Border Patrol agents find 3 bodies in past several days

SIERRA VISTA — A body was found southwest of Hereford by U.S. Border Patrol agents on Monday.

Agents from the Sonoita Border Patrol station found the decomposed remains less than two miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a news release from the agency’s Tucson Sector.

Agents secured the scene and contacted the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, the release stated.

This past weekend, the remains of two dead males were discovered in separate incidents in the west desert area by agents from the Casa Grande station. The scenes were turned over to the Tohono O’odham Police Department.

On Sunday, 24 illegal immigrants were discovered in a Douglas stash house by Douglas agents, the press release stated.

Saturday, Naco station agents discovered an illegal immigrant they were processing had been convicted of felony child abuse and domestic battery and the man is being held for prosecution, the release stated.

Also Saturday, agents from the Ajo station arrested an illegal immigrant wanted in California on a homicide charge. He is being held pending extradition.

Agents from the Casa Grande Station arrested a Sureño 13 gang member Saturday who had been convicted of felony possession of a controlled substance and he is being held for prosecution.
