Let's not let illegal immigrants 'take over'

I have lived around the world, have been caught up in young people's unrest, the shaking of my automobile, have been spat on, and known true fear - but not in my own country!

I am incensed with all of these illegal immigrants in our towns. I hope the bus that took those illegal immigrants to the Brandon jail did not stop there, but, went straight to the nearest Mexican border ("3 charged in capital murder," Aug. 22).

It is high time that we all stood up and, if we have to fight for what is ours, then fight we must, for our neighborhoods, our homes, our streets, our schools, our churches, our flag, our National Anthem and our way of life.

Last year, if you had told me that the things that have occurred the past few months would happen in Rankin County, I would have told you: "No way."

I still can't believe that we just let hooligans waltz into our country, our cities and our neighborhoods and take over.

Get your backbone up, Mississippians!
