Democrat Sanctuary Mayors Urge Clean DHS Funding Bill Including Amnesty, Feeding Addiction To DC Dollars

Posted on 6 February, 2015 by Rick Wells

The lobbyist group for the inept federal cash addicts who hold positions as mayors have created a typical Democrat financial mess in which they depend upon the producing citizens both locally and in the form of federal taxpayers to come to their rescue.

Social programs and socialist policies have pushed them to the brink of insolvency and some, such as Detroit, have gone over. Still, rather than learn from their own mistakes or those of their colleagues, they continue to insert the hypodermic of federal handouts into their cash flow, living for the moment and abandoning concern for or consideration of the future consequences.

In late January, the subversive Homeland Security Secretary, Jeh Johnson, addressed their group and proclaimed proudly that the days of immigration enforcement in America are over and that somehow, burdening their budgets with more social services was a positive thing. They’re Democrats so they may not be capable of understanding the math, or even the concept.

At that same gathering, Red Bill de Blasio, the communist destroying New York City, announced the intent of more than thirty among their membership to file an amicus brief in opposition to the lawsuit challenging Obama’s dictatorial amnesty, filed by Texas and 25 other states.

Just like clockwork, as the discussion about the rewarding of those who violated our sovereignty with residency now heats up, the mayors are acting like the disciplined undisciplined socialist central planners that they are and petitioning the more financially responsible, law abiding Republicans to abandon their principles, accept short term instant gratification, and deal with tomorrow another day.

Tom Cochran, the CEO and Executive Director of the United States Conference of Mayors, sent a letter to members of the Senate Appropriations Committee and the Homeland Security Subcommittee, urging them send a clean funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security which would finance Hussein Obama’s dictatorial amnesty.

The letter, which was signed only by Cochran, did not specifically identify any mayors by name but he spoke on behalf of all of them through their organization.

    He wrote:
I write on behalf of the nation’s mayors to urge you to expeditiously report out a “clean” bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security for the remainder of the current fiscal year. A fully functioning Department of Homeland Security is critical to the security of our nation, our cities, and our citizens. A Department operating on a short-term continuing resolution, despite its best efforts, faces uncertainty and delays and simply cannot be fully functioning.

Under its current short-term continuing resolution, DHS cannot undertake any new spending initiatives to respond to national needs, including those along the border, or release any grant funding for non-disaster programs. Among the non-disaster programs it funds are the State Homeland Security Grant Program and the Urban Areas Security Initiative, which provide vital resources to our cities to help them prevent and prepare for the threat of a terrorist attack. The Urban Search and Rescue System is a national resource that provides lifesaving aid to disaster-stricken communities both at home and abroad. The Assistance to Firefighter Grant programs help local fire departments meet their baseline readiness needs. Emergency Management Performance Grants help to fund the emergency managers so critical to our preparedness to prevent and respond to disasters when events – manmade and natural – occur.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson recently listed just a few of the activities vital to public safety and security that the Department has funded, including new communications equipment for over 80 Los Angeles area public safety agencies, surveillance cameras and environmental sensors used by NYPD to detect in real time potential terrorist activity, upgraded oxygen masks and tanks for over 30 Denver area; and 150 firefighter jobs in Detroit.

The current threat environment is serious, given the terrorist attacks in Paris, Ottawa and Sydney and public calls by terrorist organizations for further attacks on the Western targets. It’s vital that Congress provide stable funding for the remainder of the year to the agency charged with keeping all of us safe and secure, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Clearly this letter is a political initiative, as is the Obama veto threat, designed to hold the security of our nation hostage to a political ploy to achieve an illegal and unconstitutional objective. The mayors suddenly and inexplicably posses a new concern for the type of funding being used to operate DHS. Perhaps a clue as to the cause of their new interest is contained in the next sentence in which Cochran says that under continuing resolutions, no new spending initiatives can occur.

Just as in the shutdown showdown of late 2013, the regime will make any disruption as painful and as dangerous as they can in order to force capitulation by their opponents. Johnson and the others are political extortionists, holding every one of these programs, which will be funded if the regime drops its unconstitutional amnesty plans hostage.

For Obama, Johnson and company, any harm or risk to the American people is a necessary and acceptable component of their political maneuvering. That’s simply how communists view things and operate. What matters to them is not the nation but their agenda, period.

The actions, positions and statements of the Mayors of these cities demonstrate clearly that they are not of our nation or for our nation, because they've developed a peculiar and bizarre mindset that prefers illegal aliens over citizens the only explanation for which is that they're on the take with the cartels behind this travesty. Their cities are full to the brim with citizens who have lived in their citizens their entire lives from families who have lived there for generations. They've done the work, paid the taxes, and built and grew these cities into some of the once greatest cities in the world. Now they are being forsaken by their Mayors and even to some degree by their police departments that report to the Mayors. It's a national disgrace to invite, welcome, aid and abet foreign workers into these cities to compete for jobs, space, housing, educations, benefits and privileges with people who aren't even supposed to be in the country let alone their cities. How citizens of these cities can tolerate this level of betrayal is incomprehensible and one can only wonder why they don't speak out until you step back and realize that the Mayors of these cities control the police departments and the only welcome rally or protest is one organized and attended by illegal aliens backed by the drug cartels who have paid off the Mayors and police departments. After all, there's no other explanation for their actions, positions or statements on amnesty for illegal aliens and the active offense they've engaged in the courts, media and city council policies to aid and abet illegal aliens and the cartels behind them, the sole beneficiaries of amnesty for illegal aliens.

So what are these cities today? They're cess pools of crime, sweat shops, competing cultures, terrorism, poverty, welfare, high taxes, unemployment, underemployment, and exorbitant costs of livings with their hands in the dole up to their armpits robbing innocent state and federal taxpayers who are ultimately mandated to underwrite the consequences of their treason.
