America's Toughest Sheriff nabs 28 more Illegals

    http://www.kpho.com/Global/story.asp?S=4981495&nav=23Ku

MCSO arrests 28 additional illegal immigrants

PHOENIX Maricopa County sheriff's deputies and posse members today arrested 28 illegal immigrants under a nine-month-old state law that makes immigrant smuggling a state crime.

The sheriff's office says that brings the total arrests to 267 since March, when the agency began cracking down on illegal immigrants.

The crackdown has been controversial because it targets not only smugglers, but also people who pay smugglers to help them illegally enter the U-S.

But Arpaio says his office has "received thousands of letters, calls and e-mails from around the country" about what he's doing, and he says all have been positive.

A judge in Phoenix is still considering a challenge to the law.

Sheriff Arpaio is a hero. Hell, all we really need is a couple of hundred more just like him and his posse.

Anybody know who this judge is in Pheonix who is considering challenging the law?

I would really like to send him a piece of my mind. If I keep sending of pieces of my mind pretty soon there will not be any left.

That would be a tragedy. Maybe your mind is renewable.

I am wondering what happened to that Ohio sheriff that was cracking down as well. All news on him has stopped for over a month now.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Thomas O'Toole said he would issue a ruling at a later date.

I am going to take a wild guess and assume Bush has not called Sheriff Arpaio and thanked him for doing a great job.

    Employers Take Note

Over the past few months my Office has received numerous information tips and complaints about area businesses and employers that may employ illegal undocumented aliens.

It is important that employers know that it is a violation of federal law to knowingly hire or continue to employ an illegal undocumented alien. However, I realize that some employers may unknowingly have an illegal undocumented alien on their payroll.

Therefore as a public service, I will be sending Deputy Sheriff’s to area businesses and job sites to make the businesses owners aware that information had been received by the Sheriff’s Office regarding businesses possibly employing illegal undocumented aliens. I also want the businesses to know that I will offer assistance in confirming the legal status of any employee that a business may suspect to be an illegal undocumented alien to ensure their compliance with the federal law.

I have assigned personnel from the my Fugitive Division to oversee illegal undocumented alien information and investigations. Their first priority is to seek out and arrest those individuals who have been classified as “Criminal Aliens”. These individuals have been convicted of certain crimes while here illegally.

You can read my press release here.
