A Buffalo roofing contractor pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to filing a false tax return and harboring an illegal alien, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said Todd Cameron, 47, of Buffalo failed to accurately report to the Internal Revenue Service income generated from his roofing business, Buffalo Remodeling & Construction Co. of W.N.Y., for the 2013, 2014 and 2015 tax years.

In addition, Cameron is accused of having transported and harbored six undocumented foreign workers from Maryland to work for his business between July and December 2015. Cameron also allegedly paid to house the workers, first at a local hotel and then at a house owned by one of his businesses, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Cameron faces a maximum 10 years in prison when he is sentenced May 13 before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
