141 arrested in immigration sweep in Pa.

ICE arrests 186 foreign nationals in 10 day sweep

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement sweep, conducted over 10 days in three states, picked up 186 foreign nationals, 141 of those arrests in Pennsylvania.

According to ICE, the operation targeted criminals, fugitives, people who had illegally re-entered the country and other immigration violators in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Delaware.

Jennifer Ritchey, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Field Office director, said some of those taken into custody for immigration violations were "dangerous individuals (who) had been released to the streets instead of being turned over to ICE."

Ritchey said that among those arrested were:

• A 46-year-old convicted criminal from Ecuador with pending local charges who had been given a deportation order in August 2007.
• A 39-year-old criminal from Jamaica with prior criminal convictions for assault and endangering the welfare of children.
• A 34-year-old from Guatemala who is a registered sex offender.

All three had active immigration detainers at the time they were in the custody of the Philadelphia Police Department, Ritchey said, but were released instead of being held for ICE.

"Philadelphia is noted as a jurisdiction that publicly limits cooperation with ICE and frequently ignores legally authorized detainers," according to an ICE media release about the sweep.

The tri-state operation was conducted between May 15 and 24.

The news release also carried the disclaimer that "ICE does not conduct sweeps, checkpoints or raids that target aliens indiscriminately.

"Reports to the contrary create panic and put communities and law enforcement personnel in unnecessary danger.

"This operation targeted public safety threats, such as convicted criminal aliens, gang members, and individuals who have violated our nation’s immigration laws, including those who re-entered the country after being deported and immigration fugitives ordered deported by federal immigration judges."

The individuals who do not face criminal prosecution will be processed for deportation. Those with outstanding deportation orders or who illegally returned to the United States after previously being deported are subject to deportation again.

I really don't understand why legal citizens aren't screaming bloody murder over this. It's in their own best interest to get rid of people wanted by ICE!

It's inexplicable, nomas. I honestly think citizens are screaming their heads off but no one in power in their cities is paying them any attention. I'm telling you, these Mayors of Sanctuary Cities are owned lock, stock and barrel by the cartels, which is why they don't care what citizens say, think or feel, they're OWNED ... they do what the cartels tell them to do or else and the "else" isn't pretty. Same with these crazy Police Chiefs who run their coordinated response that they need the illegal aliens in their community to be witnesses to crime to make the cities safe. I mean who could believe that? No one believes that, yet, all the Police Chiefs across the country engaged in Sanctuary Cities tell the same coordinated lie. If there were no illegal aliens in their city they would need illegal aliens to be witnesses to illegal alien crime, now would they?

It's like Jim Comey claiming he's ending the Clinton investigation on fake intel to preserve the "integrity" of the investigation he just ended. What???!!! You terminated an investigation and announced Hillary Clinton "innocent" because of lack of intent and therefore no "reasonable prosecutor would prosecute such a case". WHAT??!!!

This is the tripe of our "intel" community. This is how they think, they weave one false story to cover another false story to hide another false story and then tell a President it's all true and they should do this action or that action based on "intel", when there is no intel at all, it's all lies, fabrications, fantasies and fairy tales created by the Bureau of the Loons and the Central Intelligence of the Insane and the National Security Agency of the Totally CORRUPT. How can you get truth from that? There is no truth. It's all creations of their own minds to promote whatever policy they want.

Our "Intel" community is a mirage. No wonder they don't want a President Manager poking around in their agencies. It's time for the White House to take charge of the NSA, FBI and CIA, FAST. He needs to walk up and down the halls and talk to people and ask questions the same as he does on a construction site or a beauty pageant. He needs eyes and hands on these phony outfits. That's why we elect our Presidents to manage the Executive Branch so when we pay for Intel, we actually get Intel.
