ICE simply doing their job by enforcing immigration law and protecting this country against the ravages inflicted upon us by illegal invaders is now deemed "out of control" by the open border lunatics.

Yet these same people think it is ok to ask for papers, strip search, molest and expose AMERICANS to radiation through airport "screenings". To quote Rush Limbaugh "Can you say double standard in spanish? How about No Mas!"

The story doesn't tell the whole story. I wonder why Torres got pulled over in the first place. I'm also wondering if he didn't have his drivers license on him when he got pulled over. Just because you have a fancy name like "operating engineer" and work for the schools doesn't mean you are exempt from traffic laws.Quote:

Detroit ICE agents are just nipping the illegal alien problem in the arse before it spirals out of control in Michigan. This is nothing new, Michiganders do not put up with the illegal's BS. Some of the other states need to bring some Michiganders in to get their states in check.
This school that ICE targeted is actually in an African American neighborhood. So apparently the African Americans are sick and tired to death of the illegals taking over their school and had something to say about it. And that's just fine, considering that the illegals usually get started with taking over the black neighborhoods and then more on to others from there. So it's best to just stop the illegals there.
If tha activists are up in arms and protesting then ICE must be doing something right. Keep up th pressure and keep pulling the illegals out of the jobs where they can be found. Keep up the deportations.
All states should have ICE like Detroit. The ICE agents check job sites and factories daily for illegals. Here in TN, we dont have ICE so the construction sites and factories are full of illegals. I worked at one factory that was supplied nothing but illegals from the temp agency they had a contract with. 95% of the illegals they sent over spoke NO english and had not identification with them. I ended up quitting because I could not communicate with the temps on my line. 6 out of 6 of them spoke no english and judging by the way they worked, didnt have high school education.Quote:

After a meeting today in Dearborn, the head of immigration enforcement agreed to review a dozen cases involving allegations of abuse by federal immigration agents in Detroit in recent months. And U.S. Rep. John Conyers (D-Detroit) sent a letter to government officials criticizing federal agents for their alleged mistreatment of Latinos and others.
The decision by John Morton, Director of Immigration Customs Enforcement, was made during a meeting today at the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services between him and several groups representing labor, immigrants, and the Archdiocese of Detroit.
The meeting came after two raids on elementary schools in Detroit over the past two weeks that advocates say violated ICE policies.
Latinos and community groups in metro Detroit say that immigrants and minorities have been increasingly harassed by federal agents seeking to enforce immigration laws. They say they are being racially profiled and in some cases wrongly detained and mistreated.
On March 31, ICE agents followed parents from their homes to Hope of Detroit Academy, a public charter school in Detroit, said Ryan Bates, director of the Alliance for Immigrants Rights & Reform Michigan. Afterwards, a national spokesperson for ICE said that Detroit agents may have violated ICE policies.
A similar raid was then carried out by agents at Neinas Elementary School in Detroit on April 7.
In a statement today, a union representing the agents said they acted appropriately in the incident at Hope Elementary.
"It was textbook law enforcement," said Chris Crane, President of the National ICE Council, the Union representing ICE Agents and Officers, "I'm proud of our Officers and the professionalism they displayed in conducting their duties."
He added: "No man, woman or child was terrorized or harassed; nobody surrounded the school or took any other action around."
After today’s meeting with Morton, immigrant advocates and union leaders gathered at the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation to speak out against profiling. And U.S. Rep. Hansen Clarke (D-Detroit), a member of the Homeland Security Committee, spoke to Morton today about local concerns.
“Rep. Clarke could sense that the Director is serious about investigating the issue,â€

It would be nice if they saved energy, so they can hike the 3000 miles back across the border, instead of wasting time rallying, which will not accomplish much. :arrow:

On Friday in Detroit, union leaders joined immigrants rights and other community representatives meeting with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Assistant Secretary John Morton about increasing complaints of abusive conduct by ICE agents.
Two weeks earlier, ICE agents had surrounded a Detroit public charter elementary school where immigrant parents were dropping off their kids, and detained at least two parents.Though agency officials later stated their own procedures had likely been violated, the next week, agents also targeted another Detroit school.
Today (Monday) at 6 p.m., the United Auto Workers (UAW) hall in Dearborn will host a rally denouncing ICE’s conduct at the school and other recent incidents, including the strip search of a mother in front of her son while in detention in Battle Creek, Mich.

I hate it when they refer to the these people as "Immigrant Rights Leader", when in fact they are "Illegal Foreign National Enablers", that probably make their only living from "activism and government grants.
Who allowed these people on a soapbox? They are advocating for the continuing raid of our country by a illegal army of welfare soldiers that have no right to be here "spawning" more to support. JMO

Crowd calls for reforms at ICE
Hundreds gather in Dearborn for immigration rally

Dearborn — Metro Detroit was front and center Monday in the immigration debate as an Illinois lawmaker brought his national tour to town to highlight deportations and the need for reform.
"The system just isn't working, and we need to change it now," Rep. Luis Gutierrez said to cheers at the UAW Local 600.
Gutierrez is petitioning President Barack Obama to back more relief to immigrants and fight for the federal DREAM Act, a proposal to give illegal immigrant students a pathway to citizenship through college or military service.
The issue has grown in places like Detroit, where Hispanics have complained about tactics by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials they call aggressive.
They say agents are engaging in "racial profiling" and point to several recent incidents, including on March 31 when ICE agents allegedly stalked Hispanic immigrants as they dropped their children off at school.
"We contribute by working hard," said Ruben Torres, 45, a Detroit Public Schools engineer and American citizen who was stopped by an unmarked agent last month. "To be treated like this — it's not good."
Hundreds cheered calls for reform from state Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat who represents southwest Detroit; and U.S. Reps. Hansen Clarke and John Conyers. Leaders asked the public to step forward with their stories of encounters with ICE to spotlight abuse or civil rights violations.
"Our community is tired of living in fear," said Angela Reyes, a community activist and executive director and founder of the Detroit Hispanic Development Corp. "This is not law enforcement, this is intimidation."
Last week, ICE Director John Morton met with local immigration reform activists and community leaders.
He promised to review the agency's enforcement policies.
Meanwhile, the White House said Obama was scheduled to meet today at the White House with a bipartisan group to discuss revamping the nation's immigration system.
Local activists say they want policies that make it more difficult for officials to target working, law-abiding immigrants.
