Off to Tour Arizona Border with Kyl, McCain - What Should They Know?

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Jon Kyl today announced that Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Michael Chertoff has accepted his invitation to visit the Arizona/Mexico border on Thursday, May 5.
Also joined by Sen. John McCain, Chertoff and Kyl will visit Douglas and Yuma to review the progress of the Arizona Border Control (ABC) initiative, as well as meet with state, county, local and tribal officials and discuss cross-border trade with members of the private sector.
A media availability with Chertoff, Kyl and McCain will be held at 10:40 a.m. Thursday at the Douglas Border Patrol Station, 1608 South Kings Highway, in Douglas.
Per DHS, members of the media wishing to attend this event must have valid press credentials to enter the main gate of the Border Patrol Station for preset at 9:40 AM local time. Final access will be at 10:15 AM.
Sen. Kyl serves on the Senate Finance and Judiciary committees and chairs the Republican Policy Committee.
