TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A federal grand jury has indicted three men for using fake documents to work at a Topeka food plant.
The three men, all Mexican nationals, were charged in a six-count indictment filed this week in federal court in Wichita. They're accused of using fake documents to get jobs at Reser's Fine Foods plant in Topeka.
Prosecutors say one of the men worked at the plant for more than 10 years. The other men worked at the plant for one or two years.
Reser's spokesman Mike Harding told The Topeka Capital-Journal that the company has programs to address illegal employment but that he can't comment on personnel.
The charges include document fraud, misuse of a Social Security number and aggravated identity theft.
Online court records do not list attorneys for any of the defendants.
