Three illegal immigrants are charged with drug offenses after a state trooper saw their car in an automotive shop parking lot during the overnight hours Sunday.

State Police say the trooper saw the car in the NAPA Automotive parking lot in the 71 hundred block of Lancaster Pike in Hockessin around 12:30, questioned the occupants and found the driver, Ernesto Alvarado-Calamaco, had been drinking.

Another man in the car tried to hide a medicine bottle from the trooper and even tried to eat a baggie containing what the trooper thought was cocaine.

The medicine bottle had another baggie inside containing suspected cocaine.

All 3 suspects are being held at the Howard Young Prison pending action by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
