DILLON — Friday night's immigration reform rally at Dillon Amphitheatre gave fresh meaning to the phrase “huddled masses yearning to breathe free.â€

Many of the speakers noted the U.S.'s long history of receiving workers from foreign shores, referencing waves of Irish, Italian, Polish and Hungarian immigration.

Yes, we are all proud of those European immigrants who came to this country THE RIGHT WAY by coming through Ellis Island and customs entry ports. My own family is part of this heritage and they became fine loyal U.S. citizens who invested their lives in the greatness of this one country.

We are NOT PROUD of border jumpers and smuggled immigrants who sneaked into this country THE WRONG WAY. They cheated, they lied, and they scammed America and continue to do so to this day. They are a stigma to the honor of citizenship.

Ummmm, no.

Those in the past did not sneak across our borders....especially carrying backpacks full of drugs and weapons......steal identities, lie their way into jobs, head straight to the nearest welfare office (in fact, those of the past preferred to starve before asking for handouts), carry out one act of fraud after another for the purposes of obtaining their "dream", come here demanding that this country be changed into the one they left, and proceed to inform everyone that this was their country now and anyone who didn't like it could get out or just wait to be killed.

So please.....stop besmirching the memory of those who built this country and made America great, everything you people envy to the point of hating us for it and don't you DARE to compare yourselves to people of morals, ethics, and character because you fall waaaaay short of even coming close

Americans have turned a "deaf ear" to their "sob stories".... in a newspaper article I was reading today, it was quoted by an "illegal immigrant family" that, "no Americans are giving anything to them this Christmas and they are homeless and broke".... many comments on the article told these illegal immigrants to "go home" where they could get assistance and help from their own government... Americans are broke and having a very difficult time making their own household expenses and feeding their children...
