For NumbersUSA not to know that, is really just shockingly funny.
So you and Trump give your approval to farmers hiring illegal labor

It's not approval, it's a political fact, that you can't pass a bill that impacts farmers in a way they don't want to be impacted. Been that way for decades, probably centuries at this point and something NumberUSA should know.

So it's okay to acquiesce to those wanting to break the law simply because we don't want to negatively impact their profit margin? Wow, what about the rule of law. What you're condoning is lawlessness just because following the law would be uncomfortable to a segment of our population. Actually, we know many of your comments are just designed to offer cover for Trump. However, the casual observer that drops in on these forums on rare occasions probably isn't aware of the primary motivations behind some of your writings. Just something to think about.

Oh, and to condemn NumberUSA for stating a fact, regardless of how it looks for Trump, is uncalled for in my opinion. Trump is making excuses for his own failure to support the rule of law. Maybe he misspoke, but it certainly doesn't seem that way. The law applies to farmers the same way it does to all other corporate and business employers. Anyway you paint it, Trump's comment looks bad.

I saw the whole interview, he was talking about labor, not equipment. I've been part of NumbersUSA for almost 20 years. I do my faxes and emails for them regularly. Most of us there are getting weary with the lack of results and would like to see a better strategy that produces some results legislatively.

Trump doesn't need me or anyone else to "cover" for him. He runs his own show if you hadn't noticed.

It doesn't matter whether he was talking about labor or equipment because either way it came out looking bad. Anyway you cut it, he was making an excuse for not wanting to apply the law equally. He was clearly implying that the farmers were worthy of an exception to the law.

No, actually he was just explaining to Steve Hilton in response to Steve's question about E-Verify why he didn't think E-Verify would pass Congress which is why E-Verify wasn't in his new immigration plan. But if you can pass it through Congress, I'm sure he'll sign it into law.

Nothing new here. We're used to him backtracking to change the context of things he's said after receiving feedback from is handlers.

To all new readers here-----this is the report----nothing in it about passing Congress.

In an interview with Fox News Channel conducted last week, Trump said a new White House plan to overhaul portions of the legal immigration system could “possibly” include the use of E-Verify. But he also said that the verification system could be overly onerous on certain employers, such as farmers, who Trump said were “not equipped” to use it.

He continued: “So it’s a very tough thing to ask a farmer to go through that. So in a certain way, I speak against myself, but you also have to have a world of some practicality.”

It's not his "handlers", MW. It's members of Congress who actually vote on such a thing as E-Verify. The votes aren't there for it.

Here is the whole video of the full interview. The immigration and E-Verify discussion is at the beginning:
