I think you are on to something and very possible a few of our government elected officials are on
cartel payroll.

Not to say this article has any validity but certainly raises concern and interest to learn more.
And at the very least, deserves an investigation.

On Friday, President Donald Trump reopened the government after the shutdown over border security, after Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to agree to the $5.7billion for the southern border wall, even though, the president even supplied an even better deal for Democrats with DACA included, and he would also settle for as little as only $5billion for the wall, which Nancy Pelosi also rebutted. In fact, Donald Trump offered Nancy Pelosi various different options to fund the border wall, before deciding to reopen the government himself, in order to pay government employees.

The government is now open until February 15th, and let’s make it clear, Donald Trump did not cave on the border wall, but out of the kindness of his heart, he reopened the government and serviced the workers that had been without pay, with swift back payments and he has now further exposed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats, over their unwillingness to supply border security and any funding for the border wall.

Well, why doesn’t Pelosi want better national security and real safety for the American people? One may wonder… Is it only about illegal immigrant voters for the Democrat base and only about the continuing flow of women and children in the lucrative and sickening business of human trafficking? It very well could be, since both of these issues are big scandals in themselves, which the Democrats are directly promoting in their refusal for funding the border wall. But, there’s an equally big scandal placing Nancy Pelosi in the crosshairs of undeniable acts of treason against America.

Before president Donald Trump reached his own conclusion to reopen the government, after it was shutdown for 35 days, Democrats even voted against a deal which would see government workers paid, which showed that they do not care about government workers’ wages, but are only in opposition to Trump for various reasons, some of which remain obviously secret, but with a closer look, they are all naturally scandalous at their core.

What about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s link to the Mexican drug cartel that’s now being exposed after former Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto was paid a $100 million bribe from Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, in a highly publicised scandal of corruption recently revealed in his on-going trial, testified under oath by a close confidant of the Mexican drug lord.

Yes, and “El Chapo” trafficked his drugs up and under the southern border, as we all know.

Now, let’s take a closer with some photo evidence of a meeting between the then Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto, Nancy Pelosi and Robert “Beto” O’Rourke on May 3rd, 2016, shall we? It is fact that the “El Chapo” bribe had already been paid to Nieto at the time, and one now wonders what this mysterious meeting with Nancy Pelosi, was really all about?

Surely, this is just another one of Nancy Pelosi’s many scandals, with even an existing rumour of a recent plot to assassinate the US president and VP Mike Pence which ultimately failed, when the FBI apprehended a Jihadi in Georgia, with rockets, whom had several buildings earmarked as targets for a presidential assassination attempt, but little of this was divulged in the mainstream news media.

Do you remember when Donald Trump cancelled Nancy Pelosi’s military plane access and cancelled her international trip, after she refused his invitation to give his State of the Union address, right at the time, that this presumed “Jihadi Attack” was to take place, which was when Pelosi tried to fly 93 people, including family members and Democrats to Brussels, and then onto Afghanistan and Egypt, presumably to meet with EU, NATO and also perhaps to visit the Bush “poppy” fields, and also to further mobilise the Muslim Brotherhood?

Yes, but Trump stopped this from happening, right as the bus of evacuation arrived to depart, only to learn that the plane would not take them anywhere. If Trump and Pence were eliminated in a Jihadi attack, Nancy Pelosi would become president by default, and you can learn more about this in The Marshall Report.

But now, let’s get back to the other acts of treason that Nancy Pelosi is apart of, and it has recently been confirmed by Bill Mitchell that a former Democrat divulged that many current Dems’ are and were, on the Mexican drug cartels’ payroll. This would explain why Democrats are so against the southern border wall, right? So, could these bribes also explain the “El Chapo” drug trafficking tunnels into the United States of America along the souther border? Yes, probably it could.

So, what is Nancy Pelosi’s next move in the on-going resistance to the $5billion fund for the southern border wall? Plus, who is currently investigating these allegations and acts of treason, conducted by Nancy Pelosi and several Democrats?

Furthermore, in more damming Nancy Pelosi news, a large US Police faction are seeking the removal of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from office, for refusing to do the job that the American people elected her to do, which is evidenced by a Law Enforcement Today (LET), a group of Police officers that have started a petition urging the White House to impeach Nancy Pelosi for treason.

‘On Friday, President Trump announced that he would be signing a temporary deal that would fund our federal government until February 15, 2019 in order to make sure federal government employees would get paid.

The big surprise was that this temporary deal came without any money funding the border wall, which has been the catalyst in the stand off between Trump and the Nancy Pelosi led Democrats. After President Trump’s announcement came a fury of feelings from both sides of the aisle.

What ensued was based off of President Trump declaring that if there is no deal reached by February 15th, he would be declaring a national emergency to fund the wall… and Nancy Pelosi leading a braggadocious celebration that she had defeated Trump.

Social media exploded with reactions to the surprising move.

But many people that were most impacted by this temporary deal were Law Enforcement Officers. The real issue at hand is which side, Trump or
Pelosi, really has LEO’s best interest at heart, and American’s best interest at heart? Who was willing to give in on what they were demanding in order to re-open the government so that the 800,000 federal workers who were not getting paid could receive their paychecks?


I’m going to argue in favor of President Trump and explain why Nancy Pelosi is not only a traitor to LEO’s, she is a traitor to the American people.

Let’s look at the numbers.

These are the estimates from the Senate Appropriations Committee on the number of LEO’s that were not getting paid while the government was shut down.


Law enforcement


More than 41,000 federal law enforcement and correctional officers were not getting paid, including:

• 2,614 Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agents.
• 16,742 Bureau of Prisons correctional officers.
• 13,709 FBI agents.
• 3,600 Deputy U.S. Marshals.
• 4,399 Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents.
• Homeland security

Up to 88 percent of Department of Homeland Security employees were not getting paid, including:

• 53,000 TSA employees.
• 54,000 Customs and Border Protection agents and customs officers.
• 42,000 Coast Guard employees.

President Trump’s decision to sign a temporary deal to re-open the government, without the funding for the border wall, shows how much compassion he feels towards these federal employees. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and the Democrats complete unwillingness to negotiate over the past 35 days shows they don’t care at all about people not getting paid to do their jobs while they work.


After all, Pelosi, Schumer and all of Congress received their paychecks the entire time the government was shut down. Remember President Trump works for free because he donates every one of his Presidential paychecks, so his motivation was not related to money.


Worse than not caring about LEO’s getting paid, Nancy Pelosi also votes and passes laws that are dangerous to our security and dangerous to the lives of LEO’s.


Nancy Pelosi’s Sanctuary Policies that provide aid, comfort, and protection to illegal aliens make it extremely difficult for LEO’s to preform their jobs, which they took an oath and swore to uphold and enforce the laws of this land.


For example, in March, Nancy Pelosi, who accused the Trump administration and ICE agents of carrying out “cowardly attacks” on illegal immigrants, issued the statement after the Justice Department filed a lawsuit against California, claiming three recently passed state laws are deliberately interfering with federal immigration enforcement.


Nancy Pelosi’s disdain for ICE is obvious from her statement.


“The people of California will not be bowed by the Trump administration’s brazen aggression and intimidation tactics,” the California Democrat said.

“Californians will continue to proudly keep our doors open to the immigrants who make America more American. We will fight this sham lawsuit and will fight all cowardly attacks on our immigrant communities.”


Nancy Pelosi clearly chooses illegals over ICE agents. Her support of sanctuary and protection for illegal criminals is truly unreal for an elected representative of the American people, and treasonous behavior puts ICE agents in danger and makes their ability to do their jobs extremely difficult.


Perhaps one of the most infuriating recent examples of how Nancy Pelosi and her sanctuary policies hurt LEO’s is the murder of Corporal Singh.


Singh was a legalized immigrant to the US and was living his American dream of being a police officer in the state of California. Corporal Singh was murdered by illegal alien, Gustavo Perez Arraiga, who was a dangerous gang member.


California’s sanctuary law includes more than 800 exceptions for violent crimes and felonies and bars police from asking people about their citizenship status. These are laws that Nancy Pelosi supports because she cares more about illegal aliens than she cares about legal citizens and LEO’s being able to perform their jobs safely.


Do you know what Nancy Pelosi’s response to the murder of Corporal Singh was?


Nothing. Not a peep. No response to the murder of a legal immigrant who was serving the people of California as a police officer. Zero.


However, Nancy Pelosi did issue comments that day. She decried the deaths of two illegal immigrant children that died the same day, bashed the government shut down, and on New Year’s Eve she promoted her upcoming MSNBC special.


Corporal Singh worked for Newman Police Department which was not far from her district in San Francisco. President Trump called the family of Corporal Singh expressing his condolences and again cried out for the need for a border wall and the dangers of illegals.


At this point, can we just say that Nancy Pelosi seems to care less about LEO’s lives? To her Blue Lives don’t matter. Only Illegal Lives do… or should we say illegal votes.


I will go further. Nancy Pelosi needs to be arrested for treason!


This House Majority Leader, Nancy Pelosi, was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1987, some 32 years ago, and is now 78-years-old. The average age of retirement in the US is 62-years-old. Americans can start collecting Social Security at age 62. Yet Nancy Pelosi refuses to retire and pry her fingers off of her powerful seat, California’s 12th Congressional District. At this point, it would be easy for me to make a case for term limits for all elected Congressional Representatives. However in this case, I’m actually going to argue for a case of treason.


First and foremost, our elected Representatives take an oath to office swearing to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.


5 U.S. Code § 3331 – Oath of office states:


“An individual, except the President, elected or appointed to an office of honor or profit in the civil service or uniformed services, shall take the following oath: “I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” This section does not affect other oaths required by law.”


According to Article 1, Section. 6 of the United States Constitution states this about why Senators and Representatives can be arrested:


The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States. They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.


According to 18 U.S. Code § 2381 – Treason is defined as follows:


Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.


Our U.S. Constitution and U.S. Code of Law tells us that treason is a serious crime, even punishable by death.


There are only three crimes that United States elected Representatives of the House or the Senate can be arrested for: treason, felony, and breach of peace.


Given that Nancy Pelosi, upon taking her oath of office, swore to support and defend the U.S. against all enemies, why has she engaged in passing laws that provide Sanctuary to illegals, continue to oppose funding to a border wall to protect our national security, and obstruct any negotiations to fund the border wall ending the government shut down?

Let’s break this down.


Nancy Pelosi is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and is elected to SERVE America and Americans, yet every decision she makes using American’s tax dollars, is about making sure our southern border is open to drug cartels, human trafficking, and a full on illegal invasion.


In the state of California, she is a major ring leader of the political organized crime ring that is destroying the beautiful state of California with their traitorous Sanctuary policies. These anti-American policies are designed to destroy the state and our country financially, guarantee illegal Democrat votes, and ruin beyond repair the sovereignty of the United States of America!


Not only that, but Nancy Pelosi voted “Nay” on HR 3004 Kate’s Law, which was a bill that increases criminal penalties of undocumented immigrants reentering the United States after being deported once already. Kate Steinle, an American citizen, was murdered in San Francisco in Nancy Pelosi’s very own district, by an illegal alien who was a seven time felon and deported five times. Again Nancy Pelosi voted NO to Kate’s Law! Voted NO to protecting her own citizens! Voted NO against Americans over illegals! This clearly provides aid and and comfort to enemies to Americans.


Nancy Pelosi is a criminal, guilty of treason by refusing to lead her political party to fund the wall and border security measures that would protect our national security.


Nancy Pelosi is a criminal guilty of treason by being a key member of a tyrannical government that has enslaved the American people into $21 trillion dollars in debt, which China owns most of our debt.


Nancy Pelosi is a traitor to the American people who pay her paycheck and expenses for her service, security, staff, and travel, while she takes our hard earned tax dollars to send billions of our hard earned tax dollars to foreign governments, yet refuses to fund our border wall of $5.7 billion for our national security. Particularly she wants to send $10 billion to Mexico this year, yet refuses to meet with our president for lunch to work out a deal for our safety and government budget.


Nancy Pelosi is a traitor to America because while she refuses to fund our border wall for our national security, she uses our hard earned tax dollars to pay her travel expenses to fly to Hawaii and vacation, then turning right around to fly and party in Puerto Rico with lobbyist, PACS, and celebrities, while simultaneously forcing a government shut down causing 800,000 federal workers to not get paid.


Thanks to President Trump, they will get paid at least until Feb 15th. Nancy Pelosi is a traitor to the American people because she refuses to meet with Angel families yet boast continually about her Christianity and uses pious words to talk down anyone who stands in her path. Never forget she voted NO against Kate’s Law!


The bottom line is America has a crisis. It is real.


Walls work. Nancy Pelosi knows walls work and that is why she and other Democrats voted yes to fund $500 million of U.S. tax payer’s dollars in 2018 to fund a 287 mile border wall in Jordan to protect it against terrorist along it’s border with Syria and Iraq.


We have drugs, human trafficking, and terrorist coming across our border daily and Nancy Pelosi refuses to fund OUR border wall. Nancy Pelosi refuses to protect America from enemies attacking us through our unprotected wide open border.


Nancy Pelosi is breaking her oath of office to protect and defend the U.S. against enemies.


Nancy Pelosi is giving aid and comfort to the millions of illegals who invade the U.S. by providing them with sanctuary and by refusing to fund the wall to protect our southern border from enemies who invade our lands.


Nancy Pelosi will again refuse to fund the wall when February 15th arrives to shut down the government again. Nancy Pelosi will continue in her obstinance in order to continue her war with Trump. Nancy Pelosi is proving over and over she could care less about our nation’s laws, those who enforce our laws, and our national security.


Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason. Nancy Pelosi must be impeached, fired, and removed from office, for committing treason.


Once upon a time in this country, The People gave a damn.


Once upon a time The People stood for something.


Once upon a time The People would stand up against wrongs and would take action to right them.

Do something.’

As you can see there’s many reasons to investigate and to charge Nancy Pelosi for treason, not only for the shady dealings with former Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto with the “El Chapo” $100 million bribe, or for the rumoured assassination attempt on a sitting American president, but also for her threatening border security and letting in countless dangerous illegal alien criminals into America, including MS-13 gang members. And now, even a large faction of the US Police force are asking for Nancy Pelosi’s removal as House Speaker for Treason, via their petition to the White House.



Nancy Pelosi isn’t well liked by the American people, or by the police, despite what the “fake news” mockingbird news media
will have you believe, for multiple “scandalous” reasons.

What type of sanity can Nancy “Petulant” Pelosi display now, whilst the government remains open after Donald Trump decided to pay government workers after 35 days, in which Pelosi refused to reach any form of agreement on the southern border wall.

Hopefully, the reasons as to why she did not negotiate in any capacity, can now be understood. However, if she doesn’t negotiate with Trump, there could be another government shutdown, unless president Donald Trump later declares a national emergency to fund the border wall, regardless.


If anything, Nancy Pelosi has shown her true colours and lost the belief of the American people in the process. Now, just as to how much “dirt” the authorities have on Nancy Pelosi, remains to be seen, but as they say, where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and surely there’s enough evidence inside this article alone, to warrant some form of future action into Pelosi’s collusion with Mexican drug cartels.


Lastly, according to the full details of the Law Enforcement Today (LET) petition, there’s much that has angered them about the current House Speaker, with more than enough evidence inside, they believe, for her to be charged with treason.

Democrats Are Reportedly Being Paid Off By Mexican Drug Cartels To Keep The Borders Wide Open

Prominent Democrats, such as Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Kyrsten Sinema and Hillary Clinton, as well as the DNC itself, are reportedly being paid by drug cartel kingpins to fight against border wall legislation.

The reason: So illegal drugs and human trafficking can continue to flow through America’s southern border.

Last month, The Gateway Pundit wrote an article about how former Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto accepted a $100 million bribe from Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán of the Sinaloa Cartel:

Alex Cifuentes, a witness who says he was a close associate of Guzmán for years, told a New York City courtroom that he had told authorities of the bribe in 2016.

Guzmán is accused of being behind the Sinaloa drug cartel, which prosecutors say was the largest US drug supplier.

Mr Peña Nieto served as the president of Mexico from 2012 to 2018.

Guzmán, 61, has been on trial in Brooklyn since November after he was extradited from Mexico to face charges of trafficking cocaine, heroin and other drugs as leader of what the US has called the world’s largest drug cartel.

Jeffrey Peterson, a former Democrat and founder of Quepasa (MeetMe), thinks the corruption between drug cartels and Mexican government officials has leaked over to the United States; more specifically, to the Democrat party.

This may be why Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to stop any kind of border wall legislation. They do not want, and will never support, a physical barrier between the U.S. and Mexico as long as the (alleged) corrupt payoffs from cartel killers continue to line their pockets!

In a January tweet, Peterson said the following:

“For anyone who doesn’t believe they’re all very good friends and quite connected, here’s a picture of Pelosi, my former friend Kyrsten Sinema, and someone else, at a baseball game together. It is what it is.”

“With as much influence running up into their system now in the form of direct and indirect Mexican billions, Patriots might start to understand the TRUTH about why these two are feeling so much pressure recently.”

It is a known fact that Mexican drug cartels have donated to Hillary Clinton.

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, revealed he has evidence the Clinton Foundation received $15 million from cartel leaders.

According to another piece from The Gateway Pundit:

On 9 January 2017, the web site Times.com.mx published an article reporting that Mexican Drug kingpin Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán had donated millions of dollars to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, claiming that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange had broken the news.

So, if all of the above information is true, it isn’t surprising many in the Democrat party want to continue pushing for open borders.

If their ultimate goal is to become even more wealthy than they already are (at the expense of the safety and security of common citizens), why wouldn’t they?

‘American Made’ sheds light on shady Arkansas airfield deals

There’s only one mention of Bill Clinton in Tom Cruise’s new movie, “American Made,” which is about a Washington-sponsored operation in the early 1980s to send guns to rebel forces in Nicaragua from an airfield in Mena, Ark.

That operation didn’t go quite as planned for a number of reasons, including the fact that Cruise’s character, the real-life and long-dead Barry Seal, was enlisted by the Medellín drug cartel to bring cocaine to the US.

Rather than fly his planes empty on the return trip — and probably get killed for refusing the cartel’s request — Seal agreed. And the former TWA pilot made a lot of money in the process, leading to a one-man economic boom for Clinton’s Arkansas.

I happen to know a fair bit about the Mena operation because I was investigating Bill and Hillary Clinton’s financial dealings in the late 1990s, and that mysterious airfield repeatedly came up.

And as a result, I acquired copies of a whole lot of Seal’s documents, including phone records, legal documents and notes scribbled on napkins and bits of hotel stationery.

Toward the end of the movie, Seal (Cruise) has been picked up by Arkansas investigators and is about to be charged when then-State Attorney General Joe Svoboda is interrupted by a phone call.

Gov. Clinton is on the line.

“He says it’s urgent,” the AG’s receptionist says. Svoboda picks up the phone and says: “What you need, Bill?”
Seal has already taunted the investigators by saying that he was going to walk out a free man. Then, Svoboda says, “He’s free to go.”

The implication, although not stated in the movie, is that Seal was released at the request of someone in Washington — probably someone in the Reagan White House, whose CIA was deeply involved in the gun-running operation that later became known as the Iran-Contra Affair.

The Hollywood Reporter, which says the film was based on “one conspiracy theory,” recently wrote that Bill was supposed to get more of a mention in the movie.

“Those hoping for some Clinton dirt will ultimately be disappointed. The filmmakers decided to cut a scene showing a young Clinton getting a lap dance at an Arkansas strip club,” said the paper.

But let me tell you that the Mena operation isn’t some “conspiracy theory.” The drug operation was as real as it gets and those notes, interviews and other records I mentioned prove it.

And even though it was being run out of Arkansas, from everything I’ve seen and heard, it wasn’t anything that then-Gov. Clinton controlled or even took an active part in. This was way over his young head.

But that doesn’t mean Clinton wasn’t aware of what was going on.

Investigators at the time found people who swore they saw Bill at Mena’s airport at various times. But nobody said they saw him with either Seal or Fred Hampton, who ran a company called Rich Mountain Aviation at that airport.

“I heard that [Clinton was at Mena airport] from so many people who had seen him there. At least five or six people,” said a professional investigator who looked into the case. One even recorded the wing number of the plane Clinton flew in on.

Clinton, of course, was running the state at the time. So his visiting any part of Arkansas would not have been unusual. And while the Mena area of Polk County is a tourist center, the 134-mile drive from the state capital in Little Rock would make it unlikely that anyone would take a lot of trips there unless for a specific reason.

And it’s clear that state investigators had their eye on the airport. So, unless Bill was completely blind as to what was going on, he undoubtedly knew about Mena.

One document I have contains a sworn interview with a woman named Mary Kathryn Corrigan who worked as a secretary for Hampton at Mena. “Did you ever see anything suspicious while working at Rich Mountain Aviation?” she was asked by police in September 1985.

“I think probably what seemed suspicious to me was to have so many people coming in at night and paying cash and leaving the cash in a drawer and working at all hours of the night to get planes out for people,” she said.

That interview took place in Mena and was conducted by Arkansas State Police Special Agent William Duncan and was attended by Russell Welch, also of the state police.

In another document from 1985, Seal himself testified about some of what he did. It’s referred to as a “synopsis” of Seal’s transcripts and, citing his real name, is titled, “Testimony of Adler Berriman Seal.” The case was the US vs. Saunders et al. in Miami federal court.

“Mr. Seal testifies the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) gave him an undisclosed amount of money for expenses on renting a Learjet…” Also, Mr. Seal, who also went by the name Bill Elders as well as variations of his real name, “testifies he made 6 or 7 hundred thousand dollars in trafficking drugs after he went to work for the DEA [from March 1984 to March 1985]. Was there a conspiracy to get him killed because someone in Washington was afraid he’d spill the beans? The movie doesn’t even hint.

Hillary Clinton’s Dark Drug War Legacy in Mexico

Clinton’s State Department overlooked human rights abuses and corruption while keeping a lucrative flow of contracts moving to U.S. security firms working in Mexico.

Mexico, John M. Ackerman wrote recently for Foreign Policy, “is not a functional democracy.” Instead, it’s a “repressive and corrupt” oligarchy propped up by a “blank check” from Washington.

Since 2008, that blank check has come to over $2.5 billion appropriated in security aid through the Mérida Initiative, a drug war security assistance program funded by Washington. Negotiated behind closed doors in the last years of the Bush administration, the plan was originally proposed as a three-year program.

Yet Hillary Clinton’s State Department pushed aggressively to extend it, overseeing a drastic increase of the initiative that continues today.

Much of this aid goes to U.S.-based security, information, and technology contracting firms, who make millions peddling everything from helicopter training to communications equipment to night-vision goggles, surveillance aircrafts, and satellites.

This aid comes in addition to the direct sales of arms and other equipment to Mexico authorized by the State Department, as Christy Thorton pointed out in a 2014 New York Times op-ed. Those sales reached $1.2 billion in 2012 alone, the last full year of Clinton’s tenure. Indeed, as the Mérida Initiative has grown,
Mexico has become one of the world’s biggest purchasers of U.S. military arms and equipment.

But while sales have boomed for U.S.-based contractors, the situation in Mexico has badly deteriorated. The escalation of U.S. counter-drug assistance in the country has paralleled a drastic increase in violence, fueling a drug war that’s killed more than 100,000 people since 2006.

State Complicity

High-profile human rights cases — such as the kidnapping and disappearance of the 43 students from the teacher-training college in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero in September 2014 — sparked renewed attention to the devastating effects of the U.S.-funded drug war in Mexico. Yet, they didn’t come out of nowhere.

Forced disappearances like these were ballooning even as Clinton was pushing Mérida Initiative programs forward, with official records reaching upwards of 3,000 to 4,000 people a year in 2011 and 2012. According to the United Nations, these widespread kidnappings and disappearances often involve state authorities, and the problem is worsened by the government’s failure to investigate.

U.S. laws explicitly prohibit the delivery of aid to foreign individuals and units implicated in systematic human rights violations. But files released by WikiLeaks revealed that Clinton’s State Department regularly received information on widespread “official corruption“ in Mexico, even as they were bolstering the flow of equipment, assistance, and training that ended up in the hands of abusive and compromised security forces.

Indeed, in 2009 and 2010 — the middle years of Clinton’s tenure at State — U.S. embassy cables boasted that intelligence and military cooperation between the two countries had never been better. Such cables, and the full archival orbit of declassified and leaked U.S. and Mexican records, demonstrate that Clinton’s State Department repeatedly cleared the delivery of U.S. assistance training and equipment to security forces implicated in corruption or abuse.

One document from June 2011 recorded a visit of U.S. officials to the northern state of Tamaulipas in May 2011 to assess training needs for state security forces. The visit came as Mexico’s federal authorities were trying to cover up the discovery of mass graves from the recent San Fernando massacres in the region. Even as U.S. officials were reporting on the Mexican government’s complicity and cover-up of the massacres, the U.S. embassy recommended further training for Tamaulipas security forces.

The same document also reports that Mexican immigration agents had been fired for kidnapping migrants. Yet the delivery of biometric data equipment to the same agency continued unimpeded.

In the southern state of Guerrero, meanwhile, records from 2009 to 2010 show that the U.S. embassy cleared local and federal police, military officials, and investigative agents for training and assistance from units implicated in human rights violations. Even then, the U.S. embassy — and not to mention reputable human rights groups — knew about the direct involvement of government officials in abuses there.

Human Rights Watch reported in 2011, for example, on widespread cases of torture in Guerrero going back to 1994. The group noted regular abuses by police and military forces, including “cases of homicide, torture, and extortion” overseen by the judicial police chief in the northern part of the state. The same report highlighted strong evidence of the involvement of military officials from Chilpancingo in cases of kidnapping and disappearances in 2010, as the U.S. embassy was clearing officials for training from the same military base.

After government security forces killed two students from the Ayotzinapa teacher training school during a protest in December 2011, U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Earl Anthony Wayne sent a cable reporting that “the evidence of heavy-handed police tactics is strong and disconcerting.” It was the same school where, less than three years later, 43 students would be disappeared — and six others killed — after being attacked by local police forces.

The Beneficiaries

In addition to training Mexico’s security forces, Clinton’s State Department bolstered Mexico’s wiretap capabilities, provided communications systems and computers, and installed information sharing software, biometric databases, and radar systems. It also peddled Blackhawk helicopters, surveillance aircrafts, satellites, and all-terrain vehicles, and built joint-intelligence fusion centers for targeting high-value cartel leaders.

The implementation and delivery of this equipment took place hand-in-hand with private contractors. Major players like General Electric, Honeywell, Motorola, Sharp, IBM, and Dell appear throughout records of these transactions, along with scores of others — including Science Applications International, Rapiscan, American Science and Engineering, RCA, and many more.

Several contractors benefited significantly from helicopter deliveries and services in particular. These played a prominent role in both the conduct and the promotion of the broader drug war effort.

Three Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, for example, were sent to Mexico’s federal police in November 2010. Just two weeks after their handover, they were deployed in the largest aerial operation conducted to date against the La Familia de Michoacán drug cartel. The U.S. embassy boasted in a secret cable that the operation — which reportedly led to the killing of drug kingpin Nazario Moreno Gonzalez, or “El Chayo” — was a “needed win“ for then-president Felipe Calderón in his increasingly unpopular war against the cartels.

El Chayo’s killing was the first clear evidence the State Department could highlight to show Congress that Calderón’s strategy — and the U.S. intelligence and security aid behind it — was leading to results. Yet the operation, which also caused large-scale civilian deaths, appeared to be in vain: The Mexican government reported that El Chayo was killed again, years later, in an operation carried out against the cartel in March 2014.

Nonetheless, the 2010 operation provided the justification to further ratchet up U.S. support. In May 2011, embassy staff accompanied Mexican federal police representatives to review an aircraft project in North Carolina and receive presentations from the AMCOM missile command and industry representatives. More aircrafts were subsequently delivered.

Sikorsky, along with other companies such as General Electric, continued to reap the benefits of the drug war in Mexico even after Clinton left the State Department. In March 2015, the department approved the sale of three Black Hawk helicopters to the Mexican military for $110 million. This followed a larger deal in April 2014 for 18 Black Hawks at $680 million.

Notably, several of the contractors that profited from U.S. security assistance in Mexico — such as General Electric, Lockheed Martin, and United Technologies Corporation, which owns Sikorsky — reportedly contributed to the Clinton Foundation. And according to the transparency group Open Secrets, Clinton currently tops the list of all 2016 presidential candidates in campaign contributions from the military contracting industry.

Back to Business as Usual

Naturally, Clinton herself was aware of how her department’s support for the Mexican drug war would look in light of the revelations about corruption and human rights abuses.

In January 2011, shortly after the release of a huge tranche of leaked diplomatic cables, Secretary Clinton apologized to her Mexican counterpart Patricia Espinosa for any “embarrassment” caused by the WikiLeaks documents, announcing her intention to get
“beyond WikiLeaks” and reaffirm the U.S.-Mexico relationship. Clinton expressed optimism that they could create a better “narrative” than the waste, fraud, and abuse revealed in the cables and regular media accounts and “explain to Congress why foreign assistance money under ‘Beyond Merida’ should continue.”

Getting beyond WikiLeaks, of course, meant getting back to business as usual — and back behind closed doors.

While thousands of Clinton’s own emails have since been released, the secrecy continues — with much of the important information still heavily redacted. For example, the emails contain potentially important documents, such as a memo to President Obama with a report on Clinton’s trip to Mexico City and Monterrey.

This document, however, is completely redacted, except for one line.

In his piece for Foreign Policy, John Ackerman argued that Clinton’s defense of the status quo in Mexico is “grounded in a vicious cycle of complicities between economic and political elites on both sides of the border.” Indeed, the record available for public scrutiny shows that Clinton’s State Department — rather than addressing human rights concerns over the Mérida funding — focused on ensuring that security assistance continued in the face of abuse, cover-ups, and ongoing impunity.
