Drug trafficking ring busted, 6 arrested

A heroine and cocaine distribution ring has been busted and six people were arrested following a nine-month wiretap investigation in King and Snohomish Counties. Police also seized $260,000 in cash and multiple pounds of heroine and cocaine on Monday morning.
Investigators say the organization was smuggling in heroine and cocaine from Mexico and distributing it in the two countries.
The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force used a confidential informant and court-authorized wire taps of the lead defendant's telephone as a part of the probe.
The case name for the operation came to be know as "Los Intocables" or "The Untouchables" after the ring leader told the informant that he was "untouchable" by law enforcement.
The accused ring leader, Javier Sanchez-Vasquez, was recently enrolled at the University of Washington's Bothell campus. He was one of six arrested on Monday morning. Also arrested were Gabriel Castro of Des Moines, Jose Vasquez-Contreras of Bothell, Macrino Acevedo-Cuevas of Shoreline and Rodolfo Navarro-Gomez of Sumner.
Search warrants were served at several addresses in the two counties. Authorities seized 23 pounds of heroin, 33 pounds of cocaine and approximately $260,000 in cash.
"Today we have dismantled a drug trafficking cell which brought significant amounts of cocaine and heroin from Mexico into Washington State and Snohomish County," said DEA Special Agent in Charge Rodney Benson.
The six defendants are expected to make their first court appearance on Monday afternoon.

Yeah, this guy should definitely be getting in state tuition, what a good, hard working illegal alien he is! How will other college students get heroin and cocaine without him????

56 pounds of heroin, cocaine seized in raid
By COLIN McDONALD
P-I REPORTER
An early-morning raid Monday by the Drug Enforcement Administration and local law enforcement across King and Snohomish counties netted six arrests, 23 pounds of heroin, 33 pounds of cocaine and $260,000 in cash.
"Today we dismantled a drug-trafficking cell," said Rodney Benson, the DEA's special agent in charge for Seattle.
Javier Sanchez-Vasquez, 27, who recently attended the University of Washington's Bothell campus, is alleged to be a ringleader. He is accused of importing large quantities of heroin and cocaine from Mexico.
He is named in a 10-count federal indictment for possession and conspiracy to distribute -- and, if convicted, will face up to 40 years in prison.
Through a translator, he pleaded not guilty at his initial court appearance Monday afternoon in Seattle, as did all of those arrested.
Investigators tapped Sanchez-Vasquez's phone during the nine-month initial investigation. They said he allegedly bragged that he was "untouchable" by law enforcement.
Agents said they found some of the drugs and money when they raided Sanchez-Vasquez's Bothell home. Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam Cornell said he intends to be go back to the grand jury to ask for a new indictment that would make Sanchez-Vasquez eligible for a life sentence.
If convicted, co-defendants Jose Vasquez-Contreras, 20, of Bothell; Gabriel Ramirez Castro, 30, of Des Moines; and Macrino Acevedo-Cuevas, 26, of Shoreline, face prison terms ranging from five to 40 years.
Also arrested in the raid was Rodolfo Navarro-Gomez, 27, of Sumner. His warrant was from a different indictment.
A sixth person arrested was not identified.
None of the six is a U.S. citizen, authorities said. They will be deported after serving whatever sentences they may receive.
