Eagle Pass Border Patrol Agents Arrest Convicted Murderer

DEL RIO – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass South Station apprehended a convicted murderer recently.
On Oct. 17, agents from the Eagle Pass South Station patrolling near Eagle Pass encountered, Francisco Rodriguez-Garcia, 44, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. During processing, agents discovered that Rodriguez-Garcia was a convicted murderer. Rodriguez-Garcia was arrested and convicted in 1997 in Sanford, N.C., for second degree murder and was sentenced to 12 years of incarceration. At the completion of his sentence Rodriquez-Garcia was deported to Mexico in 2009.
“Our encounter with this dangerous individual shows the type of environment agents and law enforcement officers deal with on a daily basis,” said Rodolfo Karisch, Chief Patrol Agent, Del Rio Sector. “We rely on the invaluable training we receive to protect our communities and the nation.”
Rodriguez-Garcia faces a charge of Re-entry After Deportation - 8 USC § 1326.

Convicted Murderer Illegally in US Arrested by Border Patrol Agents

HOUSTON, Texas -- A convicted murderer who was in the U.S. illegally was recently arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Texas' Eagle Pass South Station.
44-year-old Francisco Rodriguez-Garcia is a Mexican man convicted of second degree murder in Sanford, North Carolina, in 1997. According to the El Paso Business Journal, Border Patrol agents learned of the Mexican national's criminal record -- as well as the fact that he was in the U.S. illegally -- while processing him at the Eagle Pass station.
Rodriguez-Garcia served 12 years in prison for the murder. He was subsequently deported back to his home country.
It is unclear when or how Rodriguez-Garcia illegally re-entered the United States.
Chief Patrol Agent of the Del Rio Sector, Rodolfo Karisch, said in a statement, "Our encounter with this dangerous individual shows the type of environment agents and law enforcement officers deal with on a daily basis. Agents in the Del Rio Sector, near the Texas-Mexico border, have continued to apprehend an alarming number of illegal immigrant criminals amid the border crisis.
Earlier this year, Breitbart Texas reported on the arrest of numerous sex offenders -- all in the U.S. illegally -- in the Del Rio Sector. Some of those apprehended were previously convicted of raping children in the United States; despite serving time in prison and then being deported, these individuals re-entered the country.
Critics claim that the U.S. is not harsh enough on illegal immigrants convicted of serious crimes -- in their view, the foreigner felons have little fear when they come back to the country after being deported.
