Eight illegal immigrants found in tractor-trailer


FALFURRIAS, Texas Eight illegal immigrants have been found hidden in a hot tractor trailer at a South Texas checkpoint.

Customs officials say the immigrants were discovered yesterday by a Border Patrol search dog at the Falfurrias stop -- and detained.

The two Mexicans and six Salvadorans were given fluids, but declined medical attention.

The driver -- a 36-year-old Brownsville resident -- was arrested and charged with immigrant smuggling.
