El Salvador's president urges LA mayor to back immigration reform

LOS ANGELES Salvadoran President Tony Saca is urging Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to support national immigration reform, saying resolving the status of undocumented workers would benefit the United States.

Saca spoke with reporters after meeting with Villaraigosa this afternoon.

He said "Many of the people being deported are good, taxpaying people who are contributing to this country."

Saca said the mayor "made it clear he understood the concerns," but didn't elaborate.

Saca said he also discussed with Villaraigosa his Central American nation's recent request to allow undocumented Salvadorans to stay in the United States while El Salvador rebuilds from Hurricane Stan. Stan killed about 800 people when it ripped through Latin America early this month.

Yeah, no kiddin'! The reason why he didn't elaborate is because Vivalaraza agreed with everything he said.

Considering the number of Salvadoreans illegals in lanscaping and construction you would think he would want them there to rebuild.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Then why isn't Tony trying to get them to come back El Salvador to help El Salvador rebuild from Hurricane Stan
