Border Patrol Agents Rescue Pregnant Immigrant

A 22-year old pregnant Honduran immigrant is found abandoned on the Kenedy Ranch.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Border Patrol agents says they were told the young woman was abandoned by a smuggler.

Agents from the Kingsville sector began searching for the woman. After several hours they found her unconscious and suffering from severe dehydration.

The immigrant was taken to a local hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

In the meantime, agents arrested seven immigrants from Honduras and El Salvador.

The people claimed that they had been walking for four days when they ran out of water. They say their smuggler abandoned them when they couldn't walk anymore.

Agents say the triple digit temperatures of make smuggling attempts fatal.

Since the 2006 fiscal year began in October, Border Patrol agents have rescued 342 people in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.

I hope they send her back before she delivers.
