Several suspected illegal immigrants have been arrested following a boat crash onto a San Clemente beach—an incident which was caught on cell phone video by a witness.

While standing on the bluffs overlooking the San Clemente shore Monday, witnesses noticed a boat racing toward the sand around noon. The boat beached itself, and as a set of waves rocked the vessel, about seven or eight alleged illegal immigrants hopped off the boat onto the sand and began running from the vessel in an attempted getaway.

Lifeguards and Orange County sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene and chased down the passengers. KTLA reports, "Most of the men are believed to have been caught by officers. It's still unclear exactly how many people were caught."

One man was injured in his leap from the boat and was unable to move. A woman who initially fled returned to stand by the man, who possibly suffered a broken leg. He was taken to a hospital for treatment; the woman was arrested at the scene.

Narcotics were also reportedly found on the vessel, though the details are sparse.
