Ex-Senator Faults ’86 Law on Immigrants

WASHINGTON, May 25 (AP) — Fred Thompson, a potential Republican presidential candidate, suggested on Thursday that the 1986 immigration measure that President Ronald Reagan signed into law is to blame for illegal immigrants.

“Twelve million illegal immigrants later, we are now living in a nation that is beset by people who are suicidal maniacs and want to kill countless innocent men, women and children around the world,â€

The former senator Alan Simpson (R-WY) co-author of the 1986 'immigration reform' has also spoken publicly on the eventual failure of that reform as well.

May be one of them will get through to these stupid hard headed idiots yet!

I don't remember much about '86, but I do remember, vividly, the day I heard on the radio that amnesty had been given to 3 million illegal aliens. I don't know why this stuck, but maybe it was because I was surprised that there were 3 million illegal aliens in the country!
