Trump is letting in unvetted Syrian refugees

    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/...president.html
Will Trump's reversal on Syrian refugees make him a one-term president?

    By Ed Straker

    April 14, 2017

Supporters of Donald Trump, many of whom prominently campaigned for his election, are outraged by all the campaign promises he has reversed himself on – NATO, military action in Syria, the Federal Reserve, and the repeal of Obamacare, to name a few. But the straw that may break the camel's back is the issue of immigration and border security.

Trump campaigned against letting more Syrian refugees in; in fact, he was so firmly against them, he said he would deport the ones already here. But what has happened now is that not only is Trump letting in more Syrian refugees, but he is admitting them at twice the rate that Obama did. On this issue, Trump is the political equivalent of not one, but two Barack Obamas.

President Donald Trump called Syrian refugees a "great Trojan horse" during the 2016 campaign, but his administration has resettled them in a quicker pace than President Barack Obama did.

Since Trump was inaugurated, 1,401 Syrian refugees have been resettled, State Department figures as of Wednesday reveal. This is more than double the 625 Syrian refugees resettled under President Obama in the same time frame last year.

"Bad, bad things are gonna happen," Trump said about Syrian refugee resettlement at an August rally.

But not so bad as to stop Trump from accelerating the admission of Syrian immigrants.

Let's be very clear about two points:

    1) The judicial stay on Trump's entry ban has nothing to do with this. A federal judge may have prevented a blanket ban on Syrians entering the country, but only the Trump administration could grant refugee status to individual Syrians. President Trump has the power to deny admission simply by not granting refugee status.

    2) These refugees are unvettable. There is no reliable government to check up on these refugees.

Trump has already left many supporters feeling betrayed by his failure to repeal the illegal "DREAMers" program.

Brenda Sparks, an "angel mom" whose son was killed by an illegal immigrant, appeared onstage with Trump at an August campaign event in Phoenix. She said he promised her that he would overturn the program known Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, in short order.
While Sparks said she didn't think it would be done immediately, "I had expected it before now."
Michelle Dallacroce, an anti-immigration activist, is more pointed. Immigration is "why we voted for Donald Trump," she said. "This could be the most elaborate reality show. I'm wondering, was this all an illusion for us, using our movement so he could get in there?"

And now the Syrian refugees are flooding in, faster than ever before. Immigration and border security was the main issue that Trump ran on. Could opening the door to a new flood of Syrian refugees cost him the nomination in 2020?

If the Syrian refugees merely continue the creeping trend toward sharia law in pockets of American communities, probably not. But if someone Trump lets in commits a terrorist act, after Trump promised not to admit any more Syrian refugees, then I think he will be very vulnerable to a primary challenge.

"Donald Trump dropped an emotional anchor. He captured how Americans feel," said Tania Vojvodic, a fervent Trump supporter who founded one of his first campaign volunteer networks. "We expect him to keep his word, and right now he's not keeping his word."

You can read more here and here about the many Trump supporters who are already halfway off the Trump train.

There is no rational reason related to national security why Trump is letting these refugees into the country.

Trump bringing in Syrian refugees at more than twice the rate Obama did

“Since Trump was inaugurated, 1,401 Syrian refugees have been resettled, State Department figures as of Wednesday reveal. This is more than double the 625 Syrian refugees resettled under President Obama in the same time frame last year.”

“’Bad, bad things are gonna happen,’ Trump said about Syrian refugee resettlement at an August rally.”

Yes, they are, Mr. President. Yes, they are, as there is no reliable way to vet the refugees and screen out jihadis from among them. And now the responsibility for that is yours.

“Trump Is Resettling Syrian Refugees At A Much Quicker Pace Than Obama,” by Alex Pfeiffer, Daily Caller, April 12, 2017:

President Donald Trump called Syrian refugees a “great Trojan horse” during the 2016 campaign, but his administration has resettled them in a quicker pace than President Barack Obama did.

Since Trump was inaugurated, 1,401 Syrian refugees have been resettled, State Department figures as of Wednesday reveal. This is more than double the 625 Syrian refugees resettled under President Obama in the same time frame last year.

The president has admitted about a third fewer refugees from all nations than Obama’s State Department did in this time span, as he has resettled 10,565 refugees so far and Obama resettled 14,841. Syrian refugees, however, were a particular focus of President Trump’s when he was running for office.

“Bad, bad things are gonna happen,” Trump said about Syrian refugee resettlement at an August rally.

As president he signed executive orders temporarily halting refugee admittance from all nations, with the first one he signed banning Syrian refugee resettlement indefinitely. However, both of these actions were halted by the courts.

After the first order was blocked by a Seattle judge, Trump tweeted, “77% of refugees allowed into U.S. since travel reprieve hail from seven suspect countries.” (WT) SO DANGEROUS!”

As of Wednesday, 44 percent of refugees have been from these “seven suspect countries” (Iran, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Iraq, and Somalia).

The Department of Justice is currently appealing the two decisions that put Trump’s latest executive order on hold. A hearing for one of the cases is set for May. Last September, then-Secretary of State John Kerry told lawmakers that the U.S. seeks to admit 110,000 refugees in Fiscal Year 2017, which runs from Oct.1 2016 through the end of September….

This is one of many reversals which include the appointment of Mattis and McMaster, both apologists for Islam, the ousting of Bannon, the failure to criminalize the Muslim Brotherhood, the appeal to Democrats to help pass Trump/Ryan care, the bombing of Syria, the empowerment for both Jared and Ivanka, both of whom are Democrats. the empowerment of Wall Street Democrats, Cohn and Schwartzman, the turning toward a two-state solution and the acceptance of the Iran Deal. The list goes on.

u-turns on NATO, China, Russia and Syria

    Who would believe it.

Disappointing. Slow the pace of refugees and stop giving amnesty to DACA individuals.

Trump crosses 40,000 refugees mark! Over 900 in past week! Syrians lead the pack in last 4 weeks

Posted by Ann Corcoran on April 13, 2017

It has been 4 weeks since President Trump announced his 120-day “moratorium” on refugee resettlement as part of the court-halted Executive Order. And, for the umpteenth time, I repeat that the President did not have to even announce any “moratorium” or put it in an Executive Order! He has the power to simply stop the processing!

GW Bush loved refugees, yet at this rate Trump will bring in more refugees than Bush. Bush’s average is about 58,000. At the rate of admission for this past week, Trump will surpass that number. Trump has already passed Bush’s lowest year (2003) of 39,554. https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wor...t-significant/

Then on March 30th we were stunned to learn that they were aiming to bring in 900 refugees a week through the remainder of the fiscal year that ends on September 30th.
If he and Tillerson keep that pace they will admit around 60,000 this year which is near the average number we have admitted since 9/11.

Do they think we are not watching?

George Bush loved refugees and he averaged under 60,000!

Sure enough, according to Wrapsnet in the last week, from April 6th to today (April 13th) they have admitted 977 refugees in ONE WEEK!

It was yesterday that I noticed Trump had passed the 40,000 mark (it was 40,180 this time yesterday morning). Today it is 40,602 (you might get slightly different numbers depending on the time of day you check the data, I try to check around the same time every day.)

That is an increase just since this time yesterday of 402! (See my right hand sidebar where I am tracking the numbers every few days).

Going back to the date that the “moratorium” was supposed to begin on March 16th the Trump State Department has admitted 2,496 refugees.

100 Burmese Muslims admitted to US in last 4 weeks.
Of the 2,496, topping the list are 335 Syrians! 327 of those are Muslims. Other countries, where Trump’s campaign promise of “extreme vetting” was supposed to be put in place (Somalia and Iraq), come in at 283 each, and we admitted 116 Iranians in the last 4 weeks.

Most interesting to me is that we admitted 333 Burmese (that part is no a surprise because we have been admitting Burmese minorities for years and years).

The big surprise is that in just the last 4 weeks we admitted 100 Burmese Rohingya Muslims. When I first started writing RRW in 2007, we were steering clear of bringing the devout Rohingya to America.

VOLAGs not making so much noise now!

Have you noticed that there are fewer news stories about the Refugee contractors*** screaming bloody murder about Trump (and their loss of federal bucks) in the last week or so? I have. Has the word gone out to shut up for awhile?

The ultimate test for me will come in September when the Trump Department of State will send its “determination” to the Hill with the proposed numbers for FY2018. Will Trump simply cave and continue the trend he has begun to bring in the average number of refugees that we have seen in the last 15 years?
    Endnote:

We will also be watching to see if the Tillerson Dept. of State will go back to holding public hearings on the size and scope of the US Refugee Admissions Program. The Obama DOS abandoned the public hearing format in 2015 after several years of hearings that had gotten contentious. See my comments last year here.

The ‘hearing’ is usually in May or possibly early June. We will be watching!

If the Trump team were smart they would hold some field hearings so that citizens impacted by the program could voice their concerns to the Administration—but, don’t hold your breath!

I am so sad at what churches have become - truly.

So much has become apparent from this election and it really leaves us with few beliefs.

We don't have a news media - haven't had for years - we knew it kinda - but didn't know how bad.

We don't have a two party system. We knew this as well, but thought push comes to shove they might pretend to be one or the other. Not so.

We have a law enforcement and judicial system that truly isn't going to enforce our laws. Somehow, we thought they weren't because presidents like Bush and Obama were keeping them from it. Now we know differently.

We thought our major churches - and some minor - were really good organizations - maybe a 'little soft or wrongheaded at times'. We had no idea they were actually working against this country and it's people. I had no idea they were so entwined with our government in doing these very destructive things- for money, no less.

We didn't realize how very unAmerican our entertainment industry was. We thought there just might be some 'silly liberals' out there. We know better now. If we really wanted to do something, we would stop watching or listening to any form of entertainment. It is all full of 'lessons', or little sermons.

Unfortunately, many use the church and scripture to justify their deeds. Money and power is often the motive just as in other areas of life.
