LEE COUNTY: Early Friday morning, deputies were called to 4851 N. Keith Avenue in Lehigh Acres because a man was unable to wake his infant.
Deputies arrived while paramedics were attempting to resuscitate the two month old infant. The baby, Cesar, was taken to Lehigh Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
During the investigation, deputies learned the baby’s father, Julio Gonzalez, reportedly drank around 12 beers between 3 p.m. Thursday and 1 a.m. Friday when he fell asleep.
Gonzalez told deputies he got up around 3 a.m., fed Cesar a bottle and laid the baby next to him in bed and went back to sleep.
Around 6:45 a.m., a friend arrived to pick up Gonzalez for work and Gonzalez’s brother Juan answered the door.
When Juan went to wake up Gonzalez, he noticed the infant was lying underneath his father.
Deputies arrested Gonzalez and charged him with manslaughter.
For 12 hours on Friday, investigators hauled evidence from the Lehigh home.
We asked Detective Sergeant Walter Ryan is he could tell us what he found inside the house and he responded, "I'll just say it was a tragic death of a two-month-old child. No direct intent, but there is a degree of negligence."
In their report, deputies noted Gonzalez had no identification and is an undocumented alien from Nicaragua. They noted he is considered a flight risk.

A Lehigh Acres man was arrested in the death of his infant son after he reportedly fell asleep on the child, suffocating him to death.
Julio Gonzalez, 28, is charged with manslaughter. Early Friday morning, the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrived at Gonzalez's home at 4851 North Keith Avenue to find paramedics trying to revive the baby.
LCSO detectives say Gonzalez started drinking with friends Thursday evening while his brother took care of two-month-old Cesar Gonzalez. Julio Gonzalez drank until 1 a.m. Friday morning until he fell asleep.
Deputies say at 3 a.m., Gonzalez woke up. He brought his son into the bedroom, fed him a bottle and laid him down next to him in bed. Gonzalez then went back to sleep.
When a friend stopped by to pick up Gonzalez for work, they couldn't find the infant. They eventually realized that Julio Gonzalez had fallen asleep on top of the infant, suffocating him.Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Oh yeah, gotta have time to drink, muy importante, never mind he's supposed to be taking care of an infant. Try him and deport him with as a convicted felon aka permanent ban on him and any family members. Deport the wife and any other kids too. and the cousin, if illegal.

This is not the first time the police have been to this house according to the news tonight. They were there before because of a domestic violence dispute.
So why didn't they deport this guy then ? I am not happy with our sheriffs dept.,they don't seem to be interested in deporting any IA's !!
