If the federal government is going to start cracking down on illegal aliens in the workplace they aren’t going to have to look too hard for the really big offenders. In fact, it looks like the United States government is at the top of the list.

A 2006 audit by the Social Security inspector general indicates that 17 of the 100 worst employers using employees with non-work numbers were government agencies including seven federal agencies, seven state agencies and three local governments who are among the biggest employers of individuals working under Social Security numbers designated as “Non-workâ€
