New post office caters to Spanish speakers

DURHAM - A new contract post office that can cater to Spanish-speaking customers opened Monday in East Durham, U.S. Postal Service officials said.

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at noon Oct. 18, but the new post office is open for business at La Plaza Latina, 3801 Wake Forest Road, Suite 118. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. each weekday except Tuesday.

The new office is designed to reach customers who can't travel to the East Durham Post Office, postal officials said. A full line of services and products will be offered, including stamps, packaging, Express Mail and Priority Mail.

Well alamb I think it`s because some people believe ALL people have rights to be in the USA,and have the freedom to do what they want. Some people say "Were all Gods Children", like Mclame, and we need to imbrace their language and cultures.

They are the worst immigrants to ever come into this country short of the Mexican mafia.

Gogo: I'm not sure how to take your comment...but I'm assuming that you mean the influx of illegal aliens from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras etc. that have invaded our nation mostly since 1986,( the last large-scale amnesty) and not all Hispanic immigrants and naturalized citizens who came here legally and have assimilated and embraced this nation and it's language, customs and traditions. Right? As far as this ridiculous move by the U.S. Postal Service....it's absolute insanity to spend taxpayer dollars in this manner.

Yes, basically I meant the ILLEGAL immigrants. I'm bouncing off the msm version of "immigrant." No I have a friend who is a naturalized citizen from Chile. Totally assimiliated, asks for nothing except the chance to work and get a head. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
