SAN FRANCISCO -- Authorities say 11 people are facing charges after a methamphetamine bust in Northern California that federal prosecutors are describing as one of the biggest in the nation's history.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in San Francisco says federal agents and local police seized about 570 pounds of the drug on Nov. 30. Authorities estimated the street value of the meth to be around $6 million.

Officials have not released the names of those arrested - or said where the drugs were seized - but in addition to the federal drug agents, San Jose police officers and officers from other nearby agencies took part in the arrests.

In a federal indictment that was unsealed Monday, authorities say they also seized 10 guns, seven vehicles and about $160,000 in cash.
