Yuma BP agents seized $30,000 in fentanyl pills Saturday.
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Yuma Sector Canine Unit referred a Ford truck to the checkpoint’s secondary inspection area at approximately 1 p.m. to conduct an immigration inspection.
While in secondary, a USBP canine alerted to the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a backpack that contained fentanyl pills and a purse that contained just over three grams of methamphetamine. Agents also discovered that the truck’s passenger was illegally present in the United States.
The driver of the vehicle, a female U.S. citizen from Somerton, was arrested. Agents also arrested the illegal alien and seized the fentanyl, methamphetamine, truck and other related evidence.
