BOYNTON BEACH — The 27 Haitian and Ecuadorian migrants who came ashore just north of the Boynton Inlet on Saturday morning are being processed for deportation, though U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements will make the final call on whether they have to leave the county, Border Patrol spokesman Frank Miller said.
Twenty-five male and female Haitian nationals and a male and female from Ecuador were found hiding in the bushes along State Road A1A after leaving their 27-foot boat, which came from the Bahamas, said Stephanie Slater, city police spokeswoman.

City Marine Officer Darin Hederian was sitting in his patrol car near the inlet at about 10:40 a.m., waiting for a morning rain storm to end so he could go onto a city marine patrol boat, Slater said. On VHF radio, he then heard a fisherman say a boat landed on the beach and migrants had run ashore.
Hederian found the vessel and notified city police dispatch.
Officers from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the Coast Guard, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Manapalan town police helped to find the migrants, Slater said.
None of the migrants needed medical attention when they arrived on shore, Miller said.

They were then turned over to U.S. Border Patrol and interviewed in Riviera Beach. Once they are processed for entering the U.S. without being inspected by an immigration officer they will be handed over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements in Miami, Miller said.
