These asylum seekers are being shipped to Florida to be processed
because the processing centers along the border are over capacity.
After they are processed and released they can and will go anyplace in the U.S. they want to go, just like all of the other asylum seekers.

It all makes perfect sense to me.

    Judy,

Please dont come back on the site blindly cheerleading for Trump again. We just invested a lot of time, money, and intense effort taking Trump to task and it was our efforts that pushed them back on trying to reelaunch Amnesty.

Those cheering Trump on no matter what he says and done had the opposite impact.

Adding illegal alien voters to swing state Florida is exactly what the Democrats want. You contradict yourself in your post by mentioning all the close races for Republicans in that state and then extolling what a great idea it is for Trump to pump in more Democrat voting illegal aliens.

Trump's efforts to import illegals into America and transport them across state lines is a felony and not supportered here.

Please do not make me have to address something like this with you again here at ALIPAC.

Florida's effort to find non-citizen voters had slim results

    By GARY FINEOUT, Associated Press

    Posted Nov 13 2018 05:28PM EST

    Updated Nov 13 2018 05:30PM EST

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Contrary to what's claimed in a tweet by Donald Trump Jr., an effort by Florida to find non-citizens on its voter rolls did not result in the discovery of tens of thousands of illegal voters.

In the last few days, some Republicans and conservatives have latched onto a six-year-old story that detailed efforts by the administration of Gov. Rick Scott to identify and remove ineligible voters. The president's son even tweeted out a link Monday to the May 2012 story by The Associated Press.

The headline on the story said "Nearly 200,000 Florida voters may not be citizens."

Ultimately, however, the results of the Scott administration's push did not come anywhere close to finding that many non-citizens. Instead the state of Florida discovered a total of 207 ineligible voters.

Spurred on directly by Gov. Scott shortly after he was elected governor, the state began looking to see if there were ineligible voters on the rolls.

An initial list that was not widely distributed turned up nearly 182,000 people, but state officials called the list obsolete and did not use it. State officials instead whittled it down and gave the names of more than 2,600 voters to local election supervisors who were asked to check them. Voters who did not respond to supervisors could ultimately be removed from the rolls.

Many supervisors wound up questioning the accuracy of the smaller list since more than 500 people on it turned out to be citizens.

The state had begun its first screening efforts based on checking names against state-run databases. It wasn't until months later that the state gained access to a federal immigration database. After checking the names against the federal database, the Florida Department of State in September 2012 identified 207 ineligible voters.

Texas officials flag tens of thousands of voters for citizenship checks

The list compiled by the Texas secretary of state contains 95,000 names. It’s unclear exactly how many of those individuals are not actually U.S. citizens and whether that number will be available in the future.

by Alexa Ura Jan. 25, 20195 PM

The Texas secretary of state's office announced Friday it would send local election officials a list of 95,000 registered voters whom the state says counties should consider checking to see whether they are U.S. citizens and, therefore, legally eligible to vote.

In an advisory released Friday afternoon, the office said it was flagging individuals who had provided the Texas Department of Public Safety with some form of documentation — including a work visa or a green card — that showed they were not a citizen when they were obtaining a driver’s license or an ID card. Among the individuals flagged, about 58,000 individuals cast a ballot in one or more elections from 1996 to 2018, the secretary of state's office said.

It’s unclear exactly how many of those individuals are not actually U.S. citizens and whether that number will be available in the future. In its notice to counties, the secretary of state's office said the names should be considered "WEAK" matches, using all capital letters for emphasis.

That means counties may now choose to investigate the eligibility of the individuals who were flagged, which would require them to send a notice asking for proof of citizenship within 30 days, or take no action. By law, the counties aren't allowed to automatically revoke a voter's registration without sending out such a notice.

It's possible that individuals flagged by the state — who provided DPS with documentation that indicated they were authorized to be in the country — could have become naturalized citizens since they obtained their driver's licenses or ID cards. A spokesman for the secretary of state said officials are "very confident" that the data received from DPS is "current."

In announcing the review of the rolls, Secretary of State David Whitley — who was appointed to the post last month after serving as deputy chief of staff to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott — immediately handed the data over to the Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican who said his office will "spare no effort in assisting with these troubling cases."

But without additional verification, you can't say these individuals all engaged in illegal voting, said Chris Davis, the head of the Texas Association of Elections Administrators.

"People get naturalized," Davis said. "It's entirely too early to say that."

The numbers were released just a few weeks into a legislative session during which lawmakers may take up proposals to require some form of citizenship verification before a person registers to vote. The U.S. Supreme Court in 2013 rejected states' efforts to require proof of citizenship to register to vote. Other federal courts have knocked down more recent efforts.

"Integrity and efficiency of elections in Texas require accuracy of our state's voter rolls, and my office is committed to using all available tools under the law to maintain an accurate list of registered voters," Whitley said in a statement.

But Beth Stevens, voting rights legal director for the Texas Civil Rights Project, said the announcement echoed efforts around the country to remove eligible voters from the rolls.

"The secretary’s actions threaten to result in tens of thousands of eligible voters being removed from the rolls, including those with the least resources to comply with the demand to show papers," Stevens said.

In a state where about 15.8 million Texans are registered to vote, the attorney general’s office has recently pursued a small number of convictions of illegal voting by noncitizens. Past reviews of the voter rolls by other states ultimately found that only a small number of the thousands of noncitizens they initially flagged had actually voted. For years, researchers have found that voter fraud is rare and claims that noncitizens are voting in large numbers have not been substantiated.

Trump To Dump Thousands Of Migrants In Broward, Palm Beach Counties

    by Tyler Durden
    Fri, 05/17/2019 - 15:45

The Trump administration is about to release hundreds of migrants caught along the southern border into Florida's Broward and Palm Beach counties, according to local officials.

According to Broward Mayor Mark Bogen and Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, there will be two weekly planeloads of immigrants, starting in about two weeks, according to what they were told to expect. The 270 weekly passengers, or just over 1,000 per month, will be split equally between the two counties, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
That said, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) along with local members of Congress and Florida's two Republican senators haven't heard a thing about the plan.
"The governor’s office was not informed of this decision," said DeSantis' spokeswoman in an email to the Sentinel, adding "Florida counties do not have the resources to accommodate an influx of illegal immigrants."
In an afternoon news conference organized after the news broke, Sheriff Bradshaw said the Miami border patrol operations chief “came up” to talk to him about it earlier this week. -Sun-Sentinel

Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony also said that he was advised of the plan - however not by Border Patrol, but "by my trusted colleague" Sheriff Bradshaw.
The immigrants are families who crossed the border illegally into El Paso, Texas, and who indicated they were Florida-bound, Bradshaw said. They will be processed at U.S. Customs and Border Protection Offices in Dania Beach and in Riviera Beach, and released into the community, expected to return for hearings, he said.
The federal government isn’t offering to help, he said.
“No accommodations for transportation leaving there. No accommodations for shelter or a place to live. Just no real plan what is going to happen to these people,” Bradshaw said. -Sun-Sentinel
ICE to hire contractor to transport 225,000 migrants
Meanwhile, ICE (the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency) will be transporting approximately 225,000 migrant children and families to shelters across the country over the next five years as they await the processing of their asylum claims, according to Fox News. The agency is seeking the services of a "highly responsible" contractor that "fully embraces the philosophy" of humanely treating all unaccompanied minors (UACs) and family units (FAMUs) with "dignity and respect," according to a May 13 federal procurement document.
Hopefully it doesn't turn into some giant child exploitation ring.
Whoever is chosen for the contract will transport around 60,000 people annually, and will work to arrange commercial flights and ground transportation for migrant children under the age of 18, along with adults with children. Food, clothing and hygene products will be provided.
"Sometimes the contractor will have to plan commercial or charter flights in a period of less than 24 hours," reads the procurement document, which highlights an increased (and perhaps poorly worded) need for "on demand escort-services" due to the ongoing border crisis.
President Trump announced a plan to “transform” America’s immigration system on Thursday, introducing a system to favor admissions based on job skills rather than family ties. The proposal would judge immigrants with a points-based system that would favor high-skilled workers -- accounting for age, English proficiency, education and whether the applicant has a well-paying job offer.
Over the course of a five-year contract, the migrants will be relocated from their points of entry or staging locations to Office of Refugee Resettlement shelters or family residential centers across the nation. -Fox News
"ICE has zero tolerance for any forms of sexual abuse and assault," reads the document.
