    Perdue Supports Decision To Let Illegal Student Finish School

    ATLANTA -- The governor of Georgia went on record Tuesday – giving his opinion on a controversial decision to let a Kennesaw State University student finish her degree.

    Immigration officials learned Jessica Colotl was living in the United States illegally, but in early May the officials agreed to delay her deportation so she could finish school.

    Gov. Sonny Perdue talked with Board of Regents Chairman Bob Hatcher Monday about their decision to let Jessica Colotl finish her final year. It’s a decision the governor supports -- on one condition.

    Colotl has found herself in the middle of a debate on immigration. All she wants to do is go to school and the governor says we should let her.

    “The balance of a humane society has some compassion element to that. So that’s not my decision to make but I would not voice disagreement if that decision were made,â€

    I just emailed the governor----

    I just emailed the governor---- and expressed my disappointment in his decision. Further I wrote that his opinion gives approval to our university system to accept illegal entry into our country.

    I say deport her right away-- send a message that were not going to tolerate this anymore.
