BOSTON – A Mexican citizen who lives in Framingham pleaded guilty to illegally reentering the U.S. after being deported nine previous times, authorities said.
Bulmaro Enriquez, 32, faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced on Oct. 2 after he pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Tuesday to one count of illegal reentry of a deported alien.
After Enriquez pleaded guilty, prosecutors asked the judge to hold Enriquez until sentencing. Enriquez violated probation while on pretrial release by testing positive for cocaine and buprenorphine, a prescription opioid. He also has an open domestic assault and battery charge out of Framingham District Court. However, the judge released Enriquez without bail until his sentencing.
Framingham Police arrested Enriquez on Nov. 23, 2017, and charged him with domestic assault and battery. The arrest led to federal immigration officers investigating Enriquez and discovering he had illegally reentered the country and he was arrested and arraigned in U.S. District Court on April 30 of this year. He was initially ordered detained, but was released on June 7 when he posted the equity in his girlfriend’s home as bond.
Enriquez was last deported in January 2016 after he served a sentence for distribution of marijuana after an arrest in Framingham.
Enriquez was also previously convicted for two other drug cases; three times for operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor between 2004 and 2007 and escape in 2003.
After Enriquez serves any sentence he receives, he will face a deportation hearing.

BOSTON - A Mexican national who had been deported nine times in 14 years was sentenced Tuesday for illegally re-entering the country.
Bulmaro Enriquez, 32, also faces pending state charges for domestic assault and battery and has prior convictions for drug possession and drunken driving, said Christina DiLorio-Sterling, spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling.
Enriquez was sentenced to eight months in prison and two years of supervised release in U.S. District Court. He is also subject to deportation hearings again once he is released, she said.
In April 2017 Enriquez was arrested in Framingham in November 2017 and charged with domestic assault and battery. While he was out on bail, immigration officers tracked him down and charged him with illegal entry. He was released from federal custody after posting the equity of his girlfriend's home as bail but violated conditions of his release by testing positive for using cocaine and buprenorphine, she said.
Enriquez was most recently deported in 2016 after being convicted in Framingham after police seized 1.5 pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. After completing his sentence, he was determined to be in the country illegally and ordered removed to Mexico. Sometime after that he returned, DiLorio-Sterling said.
According to court records, Enriquez, who has a lengthy criminal record, has been deported previously on Oct. 12, 2004; Nov. 22, 2004; Jan. 10, 2005; Nov. 7, 2005; March 6, 2006; April 18, 2006; Nov. 27, 2007; April 1, 2008; and Feb. 2016, she said.
Lelling and Todd M. Lyons, Acting Field Office Director, Boston, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Enforcement and Removal Operations, made the announcement of the conviction. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth G. Shine of Lelling's Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.
