McCain, Brewer hitting the road togetherby KTAR.com (August 12th, 2010 @ 9:23am) Policy >> Comments:30 PHOENIX - Sen. John McCain was in a tough primary battle from a challenger on the far right.

Gov. Jan Brewer was 20 points behind in the polls.

But an immigration bill and TV commercials have changed all that. Now they're both leading their opponents (and two of Brewer's three challengers have since dropped out of the gubernatorial race).

Now the two are hitting the road together Friday and Saturday as the Republican primary nears.

The pair will skip the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas and instead hit the smaller towns of Sierra Vista, Yuma, Lake Havasu City, Pinetop-Lakeside and Payson.
Brewer's commercials gained her national attention and popularity because she's running against President Obama (just like he did against President Bush).
