Maricopa County sheriff's deputies arrested four employees of a Phoenix business on suspicion of identity theft Tuesday morning.

The employees are suspected of false identification and being in the country illegally, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said. Two were arrested at Allied Tube & Conduit, which is at 27th Avenue and Thomas Road. Two additional employees were arrested at their homes. Two others are being investigated.

Sheriff's deputies received a tip a year ago about the workers through the office's hotline.

The sheriff's raid comes one day after a federal judge ruled that Arpaio's deputies violated the constitutional rights of two men arrested during a similar worksite raid more than two years ago.

U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell ruled on Monday that sheriff's deputies violated the rights of Julian and Julio Mora when the two men were stopped and detained for nearly three hours as deputies searched Handyman Maintenance Inc. for suspected identity thieves during a 2009 work-site enforcement operation in Phoenix.

PHOENIX - Sheriff Joe Arpaio says four people have been arrested after Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies conducted a search for illegal workers at a business in west Phoenix this morning.

MCSO Det. Aaron Douglas said in an e-mail that at 9:30 a.m. deputies "swarmed" Allied Tube Company near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road.

Douglas said authorities were searching for workers using "false documentations for working status."

Arpaio said his department got information about a year ago regarding the company hiring eight or nine people with false identifications.

He said two of those people were arrested Tuesday at the site, two more were arrested at their residences and deputies were looking for at least two more people. Deputies also checked the employee files at the business.

Arpaio said this was the 45th operation of its type.

"This is another operation that had no problems with it, and then we'll let the court system decide whether they're guilty or not guilty."
