Former Employees Of Martinez Mexican Restaurant Sentenced

Evans, GA --
Two men have been sentenced for their part in a theft ring officers say started at a Mexican Restaurant in Martinez.
Daniel Arroyo Lopez and Abel Martinez pleaded guilty to Criminal Attempt To Commit Theft By Receiving Stolen Property before Superior Court Judge Michael Annis.
In February, Columbia County deputies recovered nearly two dozen flat screen TV's and laptops from Monterrey Mexican Restaurant on Washington Road.
Lopez was sentenced to seven months in the Columbia County Detention Center, which he's already served.
Because Lopez is in the country illegally, he will be deported to Mexico.
Martinez, also in the country illegally, was sentenced to two years probation and a $1,000 fine.
We're told Martinez is working to become a U.S. Citizen.
Four others are still awaiting trial on burglary charges connected to this case.
