Gunmen rob Latino grocery store
March 08, 2007
Employees at Carniceria San Miguel on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell were held at gunpoint while the store was robbed Feb. 25.
According to a report of the incident two Hispanic men wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans entered the business at 9:10 p.m. One went to a checkout counter and the other to the money order counter.
One man demanded all the money from the cash register used for money orders. After the clerk gave him the money, the gunman ordered him on the ground and told him not look up or he would be shot.
The other gunman approached two victims and demanded money from their checkout registers. When they complied, he asked for the "other money" as well, so they gave him the cash kept with phone cards in a filing cabinet.
The assailant then patted the clerks down for cell phones. Finding none, he stole a portable phone from the store.
Witnesses told officers the two fled in a red or maroon Ford Explorer. No one could get the license plate number.
