Gang members and wanted felon arrested by Border Patrol this week

TUCSON - Three alleged Mexican gang members and one Mexican national with an active felony warrant were apprehended by Border patrol agents in several separate incidents over the last week.

Last weekend, Border Patrol agents arrested an 18-year-old Mexican national who admitted to being a member of the Sureno 13 gang during an interview, according to a news release from Customs and Border Protection. He faces removal for entering the United States illegally.

This week, Casa Grande agents apprehended a member of the MS-13 gang, who was deported in 2006 from Atlanta, according to immigration records. He now faces prosecution for re-entry, the release states.

In a separate incident, a Mexican national was identified as having an active felony warrant for a controlled substance trafficking charge in Las Vegas, the news release states. He was turned over to Pima County Sheriff's for extradition.

Yesterday, Ajo Station agents apprehended a group of suspected illegal immigrants north of Blankenship, Arizona. During processing, one man admitted to being a Sureno gang member, and a criminal history check revealed he had several convictions, including Carrying a Loaded Firearm and being Illegally Present in the United States. He now faces formal removal proceedings for illegal re-entry, the release states.
