The largest immigrant smuggling bust in Arizona history.
That's what the Phoenix Police Department is calling a joint investigation with the Attorney General's office, DPS, ICE and Border Patrol that began 8 months ago.
It ended today with the serving of 8 search warrants and the arrests of 13 suspects.
More than 260 illegals were detained and turned over to ICE.
The ringleader is identified as Roman Robaina of Florida. He and his girlfriend were arrested in Miami yesterday.
The organization is suspected of smuggling about 300 illegal aliens a week into the U.S. from Naco and Nogales, Mexico.
At 15,000 people a year, the human smuggling ring netted about $30 million annually.

ensure that the illegals are not given bond. Just deport them. As for the two, no bond but to jail.

This is good and I certainly don't want to put it down.
The thing is, though, Immigration could send a dozen agents and 4 busses - park one set of agents and busses at the exit during shift change at a poultry plant and get thousands. No investigations, no money to speak of.
I am sure the same is true about a lot of meat processing plants, and other plants as well.
Just park the buses, and load them up and take them home.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
