U.S. communities with Asian-American MAJORITY populations
List of U.S. communities with Asian-American majority populations
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The following is a partial list of United States cities and towns in which a majority (over 50%) of the population is Asian American or Asian, according to data from the 2010 Census for California and New Jersey and 2000 Census for other states. This list does not include cities in which, according to the 2000 Census and 2010 Census, merely a plurality (as opposed to a majority) of the residents are Asian American.
The list below is organized by state and, within each state, by population size. The percentage of each city's population that is Asian American is listed in parentheses next to the city's name.

They say Asian-American. That does not mean that they are all Chinese. Several of the cities they list are in Silicon Valley. Having lived and worked there, I would say that actually the Chinese make up a small percent of the Asian-Americans in those cities. In the 70's the government brought in the Vietnamese Boat People. The government actually gave them loans and helped them set up businesses. Hi-tech companies brought in engineers from India, Korea, Japan, Pakistan etc. The city of Santa Clara was once primarily Italian, but now the El Camino Real that goes through the city is lined with Asian shops and restaurants.
