Graham Warns Pelosi Will ‘Welcome’ Caravans if Dems Win Midterms

South Carolina senator said Americans will get 'mob rule' should Republicans come up short in November

By Kathryn Blackhurst | Monday, October 22, 2018

If Americans hand Congress back to Democrats on November 6 and reward “mob rule,” then House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) “will welcome the [migrant] caravans here,” according to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

“I think people are going to be voting on the mob rule of the Democratic Party,” Graham (shown above right) told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo. “If you elect Democrats to run the House, you know exactly what you are going to get. They’re going to try to impeach the president, impeach Kavanaugh.”

Justice Brett Kavanaugh was President Donald Trump’s second successful nomination to the Supreme Court.

“These caravans will never be stopped by Nancy Pelosi [above left],” Graham added. “When it comes to standing up to the world you need a strong leader like President Trump. And the Democratic Party showed us what they would do with power.”

An estimated 5,000 migrants from Central American countries are stopped at Mexico’s border with Guatemala, hoping ultimately to make it to the U.S., according to Fox News. Graham urged Trump to “get Mexico to stop them before they get to the United States.”

“Have Mexico work with the United Nations and United States to deal with refugees before they get to our borders. I really appreciate Mexico upping their game. Trump is tough. Mexico is listening to Trump. They’re responding to toughness,” he said. “These caravans need to be stopped in Mexico. It’s an affront to our sovereignty.”

“Mexico is the key. These caravans have to go through Mexico,” Graham said. “I really appreciate President Trump being tough … This whole Trump approach to being tough is paying off.”

Trump took to Twitter Monday to dub the march a “National Emergency.”

“Sadly, it looks like Mexico’s Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States. Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy [sic]. Must change laws!” Trump tweeted.

“Every time you see a Caravan, or people illegally coming, or attempting to come, into our Country illegally, think of and blame the Democrats for not giving us the votes to change our pathetic Immigration Laws! Remember the Midterms! So unfair to those who come in legally,” Trump added.

The president also announced Monday on Twitter that the U.S. “will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing” foreign aid given to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador because the countries “were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the U.S.”

Graham told Bartiromo that Americans will have to decide on November 6 what kind of nation they want to be. When asked what issues in particular he believed Americans would be voting on, Graham replied, “On everything.”

“Nancy Pelosi will welcome the caravans here. Donald Trump and the rest of us will stop them,” he added.

The senator also highlighted Kavanaugh’s bitterly partisan confirmation process and the tactics liberal activists used in trying to defeat the judge.

Many Democrats immediately opposed Kavanaugh after Trump nominated him in July. But just days before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary was scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination in September, sexual assault allegations were leveled publicly against him.

Christie Blasey Ford became the first woman to accuse Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her 36 years ago during a high school gathering in Maryland. Two other women, Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnick, also came forward alleging sexual assault.

Kavanaugh denied all of the allegations against him, and none of the witnesses the three women said would verify their claims did so.

Many left-wing activists swarmed throughout Congress and cornered GOP senators, demanding that they reject Kavanaugh’s nomination. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) ultimately defected from her party and refused to vote for Kavanaugh.

Graham, who is embarking on a 13-state tour over 12 days to promote GOP candidates, said he is “going to let everybody in these states know what happens if you put the Democratic Party in charge of this country.”

“You are rewarding mob rule. You are undercutting the rule of law. Don’t give these people power,” he said. “The best thing you can do to make sure [the] Kavanaugh [controversy] never happens again is punish them for what they were willing to do to this good man.”

“Do you want to be the country of people that run you up and down the hall and spit on you? Or do you want to be a country of Republicans who actually can deliver for working families out there, that will put good judges on the court, that will stand up to the enemies of this country?” Graham asked.

“If you keep Republicans in charge, we’re going to keep the economy moving forward. We’re going to secure our border. We’re going to deal with our enemies throughout the world. We’re going to rebuild our military,” the senator promised.
