LUKEVILLE -- Federal authorities have arrested a man for allegedly trying to smuggle nearly 6,000 rounds of ammunition into Mexico through the Lukeville Port in southern Arizona.

Customs and Border Protection officers say the 34-year-old Mexican man was taken into custody Friday night after 5,950 rounds of ammo was seized from the truck he was driving.

On Sunday, CBP officials arrested a 19-year-old Mexican man for attempting to smuggle nearly 21 pounds of cocaine and almost 13 pounds of methamphetamine into Arizona through the San Luis Port.

They say eight packages of cocaine and 12 packages of meth were seized from his vehicle.

Authorities say the cocaine had an estimated value of $180,000 while methamphetamine was worth about $200,000.

The names and hometowns of the two arrested men haven't been released yet.
