Gulf Cartel Member and Criminal Migrants Arrested at the Border

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents arrest a Gulf Cartel (CDG) member, a Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member, a migrant with a previous conviction for sexual assault of a minor, and another migrant with an extensive criminal history in New York.

On Oct. 21, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station (RGC) agents apprehended a migrant in Roma. Record checks on the Mexican national, revealed he is a GDG member and was sentenced to 180 days (time served) in 2020 for an immigration related offense. He was subsequently removed from the United States.

On Oct. 21, Brownsville Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of five migrants in Brownsville. Record checks on a Salvadoran national, revealed he is a MS-13 gang member with criminal and immigration history in the United States.

On Oct. 22, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents apprehended a group of six migrants south of Mission. Record checks on Humberto Garrido-Negrete, a Mexican national, revealed he was convicted of sexual assault of child in Conroe, Texas, and was sentenced to two years’ confinement. He was later sentenced to 12 months confinement by an immigration judge and subsequently removed from the United States.

On Oct. 24, Falfurrias Border Patrol Station apprehended 10 migrants after they fled from a vehicle that failed to yield near Falfurrias. Record checks on a Salvadoran national revealed he was apprehended by the DEA in Long Island, New York, and charged with Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) and accessory after the fact to assault with a dangerous weapon. In 2002, he was sentenced to 156 months and three years supervised release. He was subsequently removed from the United States.
All subjects were processed accordingly.
