Local churches and organizations have always helped new foreign families adapt. Usually they sponsor them.
There is nothing wrong with that, and better, since its community involvement and not something fostered by the government.
I also have a problem with how because of the many we have here, we seem to have lost space for people who really do need to come to this country. For example, what about some of the poor Congo women? They are being raped by record numbers. We can't get some of them to safety here?
We always made is easy for people seeking political aslyum for various reasons, death threats, jail, politica persecution, etc.
Since we started on the amnesy road, we have lost track of some of that humanitarian use of entry. At least it seems so.
We have to rethink this whole immigration issue. We can't keep letting one group of people or countries abuse our generosity with citizenship.
It means less room for people who really need entry or others who would be exceptional citizens but can't get in due to backlogs, etc.. The way this government throws money around, funding should be provided for the important things without a lot of wasted time with their studies, etc, that anyone with common sense could tell them no study needed, its worth while.
We have to get these politicians to realize that they keep putting their greedy little hands in Grandma's cookie jar for asinine stuff. We only want real and needed items funded. They think they can do whatever they want as if they have unlimited funds at their disposal. They do not and should be responsible with the taxpayers monies. We are the treasury, we foot the bills, if we don't pay the taxes no monies available. Corporations aren't the big suppliers of this, WE ARE. We should demand fiscal responsibility from our government, not the reckless spending frenzy they like.
I think we need a complete overhaul with who is in government and some new laws regarding budgeting of funds. We must get out of the debt we are in. Until we do so we are at the mercy of global interests, who do not always have our welfare in their greedy little minds.
He should be. But the problem is not going to be in 20 years, it's happening right now!
Of course assimilation is a huge concern. That's why our country has caps set in place on the number of legal immigrants that can be allowed into this country from any particular country over the course of one year.
These caps are in place so as to ensure that assimilation takes place and that no one group is predominatly represented in the immigration process
That all goes out the window when you have 20-30 million illegal invaders living in the US that could potentially receive some sort of amnesty, not to mention all their relatives via chain migration. The number could be close to 100 million uneducated, poor, Mexican Immigrants over the next 5-10 years.
