    The Hispanic Challenge

    The Hispanic Challenge
    By Samuel P. Huntington
    March/April 2004

The persistent inflow of Hispanic immigrants threatens to divide the United States into two peoples, two cultures, and two languages. Unlike past immigrant groups, Mexicans and other Latinos have not assimilated into mainstream U.S. culture, forming instead their own political and linguistic enclavesâ€â€

    Good article

I did some speed-reading through the article. It gives a truthful reality of all the pros and cons of immigration. Mostly cons, of course. Legal immigration versus illegal immigration, is not just dividing America, but it is fragmenting our country into sectional groups that do not want to accept people of different cultures. I cannot begin to estimate the damage being caused by the sudden surge of illegal immigrants, other than to say that the possibility of newly formed prejudisms will eventually creep its way back into society, just as we were finally embracing tolerance and diversity. It's a shame.
