Man Arrested on Drug, Sex Charges
Deputies arrested a 35-year-old Winter Haven man Thursday night on charges that he sold methamphetamine and gave the illegal drug and money to two 14-year-old girls in exchange for sex, the Polk County Sheriff's Office reported.

Undercover narcotics detectives received a tip that Marco Borja-Vasquez was selling methamphetamine out of his 145 Bomber Road apartment, the release said.

Borja-Vasquez ran when deputies came to arrest him and he threw down 11 bags full of methamphetamine, but then surrendered, the release said.

Deputies found two 14-year-old girls inside his 145 Bomber Road apartment, who appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine, the release said.

The girls told deputies Vasquez gave them drugs and money in exchange for sex, investigators said.

A loaded revolver and $1,500 in cash were also found in the home.

Polk County Judge Anne Kaylor set $1 million bail and Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been notified, the release said.

Investigators said Borja-Vasquez was in the country illegally.

Among other charges, Borja-Vasquez was charged with one count each of child neglect, lewd battery, lewd molestation along with two counts each of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and false imprisonment, said a Sheriff's Office news release.
