Gingrich urges action against illegals
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20050 ... -4099r.htm
By Ralph Z. Hallow
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Newt Gingrich is demanding that the Bush administration get serious about stopping illegal immigration.
The former House speaker wants the United States to completely seal off its border along Mexico and Canada, deport illegal aliens within 72 hours of their arrest and exclude U.S. courts from reviewing such deportations.
"Let's be serious about sealing off our borders or [else] have open borders," Mr. Gingrich told more than 1,000 cheering conservatives on Saturday.
"It's a complete misreading of the 14th Amendment" to the Constitution to think that illegal aliens are entitled to the same rights as U.S. citizens, he said on the closing day of the 32nd annual Conservative Political Action Conference.
He hit all the right notes for activists at a conference where immigration proved to be the hottest issue â€â€

"We have to have a relatively open green-card policy to relieve pressure" from Mexico and elsewhere, as well as from U.S. firms seeking workers, Mr. Gingrich said.
Even the seemingly innocuous part about "pressure" from "US firms seeking workers" is a subtle propaganda tool- using "seeking workers" instead of "seeking cheap workers" or better yet "seeking to flood the labor market". How he framed it gives away what side he is on.
Not that the pressure would be relieved anyway, because the flood across our border is infinite, not limited, and giving out more green cards will just add to the mix exponentially more immediate relative and family-sponsored immigration. But oh yeh, better for the companies "seeking workers" right?
When they pull a former politician like this out of the woodwork to make this kind of statement, its not usually a random event. Giving out more green cards is obviously on their agenda. As is using the media to spin such a ludicrous plan as "serious about stopping illegal immigration".

Thursday article suggestion
William, I might would have posted it today, but I do believe Daylights must have put it on here while I was posting the other two! Great article, and it will almost certainly (barring something truly shocking happening) go up on Thursday.
