An official with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) says Homeland Security is conducting several raids in Lincoln.

UPDATE:
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with assistance from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, is conducting a law enforcement operation in multiple locations in Lincoln, Nebraska, today as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. As of this afternoon, HSI has arrested 22 individuals for unrelated administrative immigration violations. Preliminary information indicates these individuals come from the following countries: Mexico (19), Honduras (2) and Guatemala (1). One woman (from Mexico) was included in these arrests, and 21 men.
The 22 individuals arrested for immigration violations will be interviewed, charged accordingly and likely released later today, pending a review of their respective criminal histories. Any individuals who have convictions for serious past criminal offenses may be further detained.

The official told Channel 8 Eyewitness News that the raids are part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
He said operations are not immigration raids, but that illegal immigrants found during the operations could be charged.
The official could not say how many raids were taking place or at what locations.
