Homeland Security Spending Bill Markup Postponed
Updated Wednesday, June 18, 2008, 4:43 PM

The House Appropriations Committee today postponed its markup of a bill that will determine how much money the federal government can spend next year on enforcing immigration laws. Committee members had been under huge pressure from special interests to reduce effective enforcement funding, and to gut the rapidly increasing enforcement of immigration laws by local police and sheriffs. However, pressure from NumbersUSA members and others to increase enforcement funding has likely forced open borders members on the committee to re-think their plans. Thanks goes out to all of you who helped shut down this anti-enforcement effort.
