Creation of the Department of Homeland Security in March 2003 has provided an opportunity to use financial investigative techniques to combat alien smugglers by targeting and seizing their monetary assets.

After slavery was official abolished by the English Parliament, it took the English government 50 years to entirely stop English ships from transporting people from Africa illegally to be sold as slaves because "the Slave Trade" was then, as is illegal alien and drug trafficking now, so very profitable.

Discouraging! However, I believe as more and more people in the U.S. and Canada are made aware of and mobilized against the dangers which these wealthy, well-organized groups pose to the rest of us, surely real action against them by our governments can be forced. We don't have 50 years this time before our country is completely taken over by those who want to continue to use illegal drugs and labor. Perhaps we now need to legalize, regulate, and tax the first while abolishing the second.
