Two men suspected of robbing a Burger King in Arvada and killing a female employee were captured at a Greyhound bus station in Savannah, Ga., authorities said this morning.

The men, who police identified as Thomas Steven Johns, 17, and Anthony John Lowe, 21, were arrested shortly after midnight by plain-clothes Savannah-Chatham SWAT team members when the pair got off a bus at a station on Oglethorpe Avenue.

The suspects were scheduled to board another bus.

The officers arrested the suspects without incident, a police statement said.

Arvada police said they learned about the suspect’s travel plans and coordinated with the authorities in Georgia.

The men are being held at the Chatham County jail and are awaiting extradition to Colorado.

Arvada police said Burger King employee Celia Meza was shot and killed by robbers around 3 a.m. Sunday, and the two suspects took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The fast-food restaurant at 64th Avenue and Ward Road remained closed and cordoned off Monday as police continued their investigation. Police said the victim is an illegal immigrant who was using a false identity.

The Burger King is a 24-hour restaurant, but police spokesman Susan Medina has said she was unsure if the main restaurant was closed and access restricted to the drive-up window at 3 a.m. Sunday.
