House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi: ‘I trust’ Trump on DACA legislation

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Sunday she trusts President Trump to hold up his end of a supposed deal that would involve maintaining legal status for certain illegal immigrants brought to the country as children.
“I trust him on it,” Mrs. Pelosi said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I’m concerned about what he might come up with in terms of border security and the rest of that, but we have said no wall.”
Mrs. Pelosi said part of the deal will entail legislation to provide legal status and an eventual path to citizenship for illegal immigrants brought to the country as children, who are known as Dreamers.
“The Dream Act – no wall,” she said. “We’re not supporting a wall.”
She said she thinks there will be a deal by the end of the year.
“I would like to see it within the next few weeks, but certainly before we leave,” said Mrs. Pelosi, California Democrat.

Mr. Trump announced earlier this month he was phasing out the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, saying he didn’t think it could be defended in court.

He set a six-month phaseout timeline to allow Congress time to come up with a legislative fix.

Hmmm. And he says wall plus much more and NO AMNESTY.

Doesn't sound like much a "deal" so far, Nancy. You thinking you and Chuck jumped the gun with your late night press statement? Probably so, Nancy. You're in a whole new world negotiating with the Trump.

Obviously Trump's definition of amnesty is not the same as ours.

Amnesty is anything that allows illegals to remain here legally. Trump is supporting an amnesty and has said as much. Amnesty is a no-no word and everyone that actually supports an amnesty refuses to call it amnesty. Trump is no different. Most everyone here on ALIPAC has been in the game long enough to know what an amnesty actually is and it is what Trump is supporting and pushing for.

It seems like what Trump is saying is this:

1. No massive wall and everything else he wants including the RAISE ACT, no deal.

2. If there's a pathway to citizenship in any of the bills, no deal.

I mean if you look close one might gather he's set up the Swamp to expose itself (and the Rats are certainly pouring out of the woodwork to show themselves), so he can do what Reagan should have done 31 years ago and VETO any amnesty bill that hits his desk.

Who knows, I could be reading it wrong. But then, I might not be.

We'll see.

Trump is being rather vague and bounces around so much, it's difficult to tell what he really wants or doesn't want. He routinely says one thing one day and something different 3 days later. Sorry, but I just don't see how he can be trusted on this issue.

I don't think anyone should trust any of them on this issue, certainly not Pelosi or Schumer.
