$88.3 MILLION in blank "GREEN CARDS" have been ordered

ID Global receives order to produce Next-Gen U.S. Permanent Resident “Green Cards”

    Tue, 2015-12-08 04:55 PM
Austin, TX, December 8 - HID Global®, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, has received an order from the U.S. government for the redesign, manufacture and supply of the country’s Permanent Resident Card – commonly known as the “Green Card.” The $88.3 million agreement marks the company’s largest government contract to date, extending a nearly two-decade relationship for another five years.

The agreement expands production to include the manufacture and supply of additional government documents that will be enhanced with RFID technology for improved fraud protection.

“We are proud of our long-standing relationship with the U.S. government and are committed to delivering a new generation of the U.S. Green Card along with new high-security employment documents for them in the years to come,” said Rob Haslam, vice president of Government ID Solutions with HID Global. “This contract award proves anew that HID Global has been and will continue to be the country’s preeminent supplier of secure government ID document solutions through four successive generations of U.S. Green Cards and beyond.”

HID Global will be responsible for the secure production, delivery and storage of up to 34 million identity cards over the next five years.

More than 10 million of HID Global’s first-generation multi-technology eID cards have been issued as Green Cards since 2010, with more than 32 million of the company’s first-generation Green Cards issued since 1997. HID Global will also play a pivotal role in helping to upgrade today’s U.S. Employment Authorization Documents (EAD) by supplying cards featuring RFID technology and new, fraud-resistant security features. These advanced documents, which serve as evidence of authorization to be employed in the United States, will be issued to individuals as they apply for new, renewal or replacement PRC and EAD cards.

Maybe this even rises to misuse of a government office. That is the purpose for Sen. Chuck Grassley's whistleblower office. It's more for waste, fraud and abuse than policy arguments. But in this case there is significant government money being spent for something that Congress did not intent to authorize of this magnitude: Write: whistleblower@judiciary-rep.senate.gov

Here is a link to what that office of Sen. Grassley does:http://www.grassley.senate.gov/contact/whistleblowers

Pakistan, Iraq, Bangladesh Top Muslim Nations Receiving Green Cards from US

    BY: Morgan Chalfant
    December 8, 2015 4:05 pm
Immigrants from Pakistan, Iraq, and Bangladesh received the most green cards from the United States in the past five years when compared to other Muslim-majority nations.
The U.S. granted 83,000 green cards to migrants from Pakistan and another 83,000 to migrants from Iraq between fiscal years 2009 and 2013, according to a chart produced by the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest using Department of Homeland Security data.
Migrants from Bangladesh received 75,000 green cards, those from Iran received 73,000, and those from Egypt received 45,000 to round out the top five.
In sum, the U.S. granted 680,000 green cards to immigrants from Muslim-majority nations between 2009 and 2013.

Thousands of green cards went to immigrants from more than three dozen Muslim countries, including: Somalia (31,000), Uzbekistan (24,000), Turkey (22,000), Morocco (22,000), Jordan (20,000), Albania (20,000), Lebanon (16,000), Yemen (16,000), Indonesia (15,000), Syria (14,000), Sudan (13,000), Afghanistan (11,000), Sierra Leone (10,000), Guinea (8,000), Senegal (7,000), Saudi Arabia (7,000), Algeria (7,000), Kazakhstan (7,000), Kuwait (5,000), Gambia (5,000), United Arab Emirates (4,000), Azerbaijan (4,000), Mali (3,000), Burkina Faso (3,000), Kyrgyzstan (3,000), Kosovo (3,000), Mauritania (2,000), Tunisia (2,000), Tajikistan (2,000), Libya (2,000), Turkmenistan (1,000), Qatar (1,000), and Chad (1,000).
The U.S. is expected to issue another 660,000 green cards over the next five years to immigrants from Muslim-majority nations.
Concern regarding the United States’ granting of green cards has heightened in the wake of the deadly shooting in San Bernardino, California, that the FBI is currently investigating as an act of terrorism. One of the attackers, Pakistani national Tashfeen Malik, traveled to the U.S. last summer with her fiancé and fellow attacker Syed Rizwan Farook. She later obtained a green card.
A recent article in National Review cast light on the prevalence of anti-Semitism and other extreme beliefs in Muslim-majority nations. According to polling published by the Anti-Defamation League last year, nearly three-quarters of North African and Middle Eastern residents harbored anti-Semitic beliefs, including 92 percent of Iraqis, 69 percent of Turks, and 74 percent of Saudis.
Polling conducted recently by the Pew Research Center also indicated that about 50 million people from Muslim-majority nations express sympathy for the Islamic State (IS, also known as ISIL or ISIS), though the majority of Muslims hold unfavorable opinions of the terrorist group. The share of individuals viewing IS negatively is particularly low in Pakistan, where 28 percent of residents see the terror group unfavorably but 71 percent have a positive opinion or no opinion at all of IS.
Malik, one of the San Bernardino attackers, pledged allegiance to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on social media at the time of the attack. The terrorist group has also said that both attackers, who are now dead, were supporters.
